According to statistics from the Department of Home Affairs, from 2020 to March 31, 2025, the number of workers working abroad under fixed-term contracts was 11,909, of which the Japanese market attracted 6,284 people, Taiwan 4,028 people and South Korea 1,494 people. This distribution shows that traditional labor markets in the East Asian region are still the priority choice of workers in the province. Also during this period, the number of workers working abroad under fixed-term contracts returning home was 2,396 people.
To ensure compliance with the law in the field of international labor, the Department of Home Affairs has proactively coordinated with the Provincial Police, the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and the Department of Home Affairs of districts, towns and cities to conduct periodic inspections of relevant organizations and enterprises. Specifically, in 2020, 5 units were inspected, in 2021, 11 units, and in 2023, 19 units.
In addition, the province has also actively received and resolved procedures related to foreign workers coming to work at organizations and enterprises in the area. Activities such as approving job positions, confirming that foreign workers are not subject to work permits, granting, re-granting and extending work permits are carried out quickly and in accordance with regulations.
This will create favorable conditions for units to recruit foreign workers to perform jobs that Vietnamese workers cannot meet, while promoting the technology transfer process, especially at wind power enterprises operating in Huong Hoa district.
