Specifically, the price of pepper in Dak Lak is being purchased at 150,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. The price of pepper in Chu Se (Gia Lai) is being purchased at 148,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. The price of pepper in Dak Nong today is recorded at 150,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

In the Southeast region, the price of pepper in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is currently at 148,500 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday; in Binh Phuoc, the price of pepper today is also at 148,500 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

The supply of pepper from farmers is decreasing significantly as many growers choose to hold onto their stock, waiting for better prices. This has narrowed the circulating supply, creating upward pressure on prices in the short term. At the same time, improved exports have prompted businesses and distributors to increase purchases to fulfill year-end orders, contributing to a 500 VND increase in pepper prices today.

In this context, many experts believe that pepper prices are likely to remain stable or increase slightly in the coming days. Positive export demand and the hoarding mentality of consumers could lead to a short-term supply shortage, thereby supporting prices.

However, there is still a possibility of price adjustments if supply unexpectedly increases again. Farmers rushing to sell to lock in profits could cause prices to fall slightly, depending on the actual market developments.

Overall, the trend in pepper prices in the coming period will largely depend on the farmers' willingness to hold onto their stock and signals from export orders at the end of the year.

Pepper price today, December 12, 2025: Remains at 150,000 VND.

Indonesian media reported that the Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN/Bappenas) has announced the Spice Industry Deep Processing Development Roadmap for the period 2025–2045. At the announcement event in Jakarta, Minister Rachmat Pambudy affirmed that this roadmap is a crucial part of Indonesia's trade activities and opens up new directions for the spice industry over the next two decades.

Indonesia hopes that this roadmap will help restore the golden age of its spice industry – a sector that once played a leading role in the country's international trade. Figures from 2023 show that Indonesia exported over 148,000 tons of spices, valued at over $564 million, with key products including cloves, pepper, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Currently, many Indonesian spices are experiencing strong growth in the international market. Cloves have seen a 61% increase in exports, while ginger and turmeric have risen by as much as 139%. These figures reflect high demand from the global food processing, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries.

The vision of the new roadmap is to make Indonesia a world-leading producer of nutmeg, pepper, cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, black turmeric, and other processed spice products, creating a sustainable competitive advantage for the country in the global value chain.
