Pepper price today 7/20 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on July 19 (Hanoi time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,216/ton. In addition, Muntok white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,058/ton.

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 5,800/ton.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,900/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price remained stable from yesterday at $11,750/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam are stable compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l is 6,440 USD/ton; 550 gr/l is 6,570 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150/ton.

According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), the global pepper market is showing a downward trend in prices in most countries. In that general picture, only domestic black pepper prices in Sri Lanka recorded a slight increase.

In India, this is the second consecutive week of falling pepper prices in both domestic and international markets. A similar situation is also taking place in Indonesia, where both domestic and export pepper prices have declined.

The Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that in the coming days, domestic pepper prices will likely fluctuate within a narrow range.

However, pepper prices may remain high in the short term, due to the limited inventory in Vietnam, while export enterprises are actively collecting goods to deliver orders in the third quarter of 2025.

The pepper market in the coming time is expected to be supported by two main factors. The first is the decrease in pepper output in some key exporting countries.

Second, consumer demand is showing signs of recovery after a period of stagnation in the first half of the year. Both of these factors are considered the foundation for keeping pepper prices stable or increasing slightly.

One notable point is that Vietnam is enjoying better tax incentives than Brazil. In the context of supply difficulties from major countries such as Brazil and Indonesia due to harsh weather, the medium and long-term prospects of Vietnamese pepper are even more positive, opening up opportunities to maintain its position in the global market.
