This morning (February 14th), domestic gold prices rebounded. At Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), each tael of gold was bought for 178 million VND and sold for 81 million VND, an increase of 2 million VND compared to yesterday. Similarly, 9999 gold rings at SJC also increased by 2 million VND, being bought for 177.5 million VND and sold for 180.5 million VND.
In the market, some businesses that buy and sell gold rings at the same price as SJC gold bars include Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai, etc.

World gold prices recovered and rose above the $5,000/ounce mark. At the close of trading this weekend, world gold prices reached $5,041.2/ounce, an increase of over $63 compared to the previous day. The precious metal surged after US inflation was lower than expected. The US Department of Labor just announced that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for January increased by 0.2%, lower than economists ' forecast of 0.3% and lower than the 0.3% increase in December 2025. Tai Wong, an independent metals trader, stated on CNBC that gold, and especially silver, are benefiting from a rebound after the slightly lower January CPI eased concerns stemming from the strong jobs report released on February 11th.
Earlier data also showed that the US created 130,000 jobs in January, higher than the 70,000 analysts had estimated. The latest data also showed that initial jobless claims for the week ending February 7th fell to 227,000. The robustness of the labor market continues to bolster the Federal Reserve's confidence in the US economy, providing a basis for maintaining its high interest rate policy to control inflation. According to data compiled by LSEG, the market is currently forecasting a total of approximately 63 basis point interest rate cuts this year, with the first cut expected in July.
Following the upward trend of gold, spot silver prices rose more than 2.3% to $77.32 per ounce, recovering after falling 11% in the previous session.
