Domestic gold bar prices today

Specifically, gold bars from SJC, PNJ, and DOJI brands were bought at 167.3 million VND/ounce and sold at 169.3 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 1.2 million VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Bao Tin Manh Hai gold bars are being bought at 167.4 million VND/ounce and sold at 169.3 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 700,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Bao Tin Minh Chau gold bars are being bought at 167.3 million VND/ounce and sold at 169.3 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 700,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Phu Quy SJC is buying gold bars at 166.6 million VND/ounce, down 900,000 VND/ounce; and selling them at 169.3 million VND/ounce, down 700,000 VND/ounce compared to yesterday morning.

Domestic gold ring prices today

The price of gold rings today (January 23) also dropped sharply compared to yesterday morning.

Specifically, SJC listed the buying price of gold rings at 165.2 million VND/ounce and the selling price at 167.7 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 700,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

The buying price for 999.9 pure gold rings from Bao Tin Manh Hai brand is listed at 165.3 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 700,000 VND/ounce.

DOJI and PNJ gold rings are trading at 164.5 million VND/ounce for buying and 167.5 million VND/ounce for selling, a decrease of 500,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Gold rings from the Bao Tin Minh Chau brand are listed at 166.3 - 169.3 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price), a decrease of 700,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Phu Quy gold rings are being bought at 165.2 million VND/ounce and sold at 168.2 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 800,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Today's world gold price

World gold prices rose sharply today, closing at $4934.8 per ounce at the end of the trading session on January 22nd, US time. Overall, world gold prices increased by 2.14% in the past 24 hours, equivalent to an increase of $103.4 per ounce. February gold futures fell by $3.60 per ounce to $4,833.70 per ounce.

With domestic gold bar prices falling sharply and world gold prices listed on Kitco at $4934.8 USD/ounce (equivalent to 157 million VND/ounce converted at Vietcombank exchange rate, excluding taxes and fees), the difference between domestic and world gold prices is approximately 12.3 million VND/ounce.

Gold prices surged in the final trading sessions of the day, according to Bob Haberkorn, strategist at RJO Futures. He noted that the US withdrawal of its tariff warning against EU countries regarding Greenland only had a short-term impact, while gold's upward trend was maintained due to its role as a store of value amid ongoing economic and political uncertainty. Gold prices have risen 64% over the past year and another 11% since the beginning of this year.

Investors are now focusing their attention on the upcoming policy meeting of the US Federal Reserve (Fed), expecting the agency to continue keeping interest rates unchanged. In the context of persistently low interest rates, precious metals, especially gold, are projected to have significant room for further gains in the medium and long term.
