On the morning of December 9, oil prices continued to decline, Brent oil fell by 1.24 USD/barrel, equivalent to 1.95%, to 62.51 USD/barrel; WTI oil price fell by 1.21 USD/barrel, equivalent to 2.01%, to 58.87 USD/barrel.
Thus, the bearish trend continues as new information from the world may cause market volatility this week.
According to Reuters, one of the world's largest oil fields, West Qurna 2, operated by Lukoil Group, has resumed operations after a leak in the export pipeline caused a production cut. This oil field has a capacity of about 460,000 barrels/day, accounting for 0.5% of global oil supply. Previously, oil prices fell slightly after information appeared that Iraq had temporarily stopped production at this field, but the market reversed immediately after information that the oil field had been restored to operation.

Domestic gasoline prices may decrease slightly in this week's price adjustment period.
Meanwhile, the progress of peace negotiations for Ukraine is still quite slow, although US President Donald Trump is still pushing for it to speed up. Market analysts at Reuters said that if there is any peace agreement for Ukraine in the near future, Russia's oil exports may increase and the downward pressure on oil prices will be more obvious.
In other developments, the G7 countries and the European Union are discussing scrapping the price cap and moving to a complete ban on shipping services involving Russian oil, a move that could further restrict exports from the world’s second-largest producer. In Asia, reports suggest that independent Chinese refiners have increased purchases of Iranian oil using newly granted import quotas, in a bid to ease a domestic glut.
Domestically, updating the world's finished petroleum prices last week, it is forecasted that at the price adjustment session this coming Thursday afternoon (December 11), retail gasoline prices may be adjusted down across the board, while fuel oil prices may increase slightly./.
