In the final days of the year, as the spring air begins to permeate every street, Giáng Son says she often sets aside a quiet moment to reflect on Tet (Vietnamese New Year). For the female musician, Tet is not associated with hustle and bustle, but rather with everyday moments spent with family.
"The vibrant atmosphere of spring, the characteristic colors of Hanoi 's flowers during Tet, are very vividly present. It evokes many old memories of my childhood, of the nights of the 30th of Tet with my mother arranging peonies, violets, and gladioli in the house," she shared.
According to the female musician, spring flowers are not only for beautifying living spaces but also carry spiritual meaning, like a wish for peace and abundance in the new year.
In her New Year's greetings, she expressed: "Each person is a unique flower, creating a colorful garden of life. May everyone be peaceful and vibrant like flowers, radiant with happy smiles as spring arrives."

Following the success of her previous songs about Hanoi, Giáng Son admitted that she had reservations about continuing to explore the theme of spring. Writing about Tet (Lunar New Year) is not easy, because it is a shared memory for many people. "Sometimes, I wonder what new things I can write about Hanoi, about flowers, about Tet...", the female songwriter confided.
According to Giáng Son, what makes her want to continue writing is the feeling that each person is like a flower. Spring is not only the time of transition from the old year to the new year, but also an opportunity for people to renew themselves.
Drawing inspiration from memories of arranging flowers with her mother on the eve of Tet (Lunar New Year's Eve) and the feeling of a slow-paced Hanoi each spring, Giang Son created the music video " Hanoi in the Colors of Spring Flowers " as a way to concretize those memories through images and music . The song is set to music from the poem " Flowers of Hanoi" by Duong Quyet Thang, performed by Tran Thu Ha. The music video, directed by Minh Quoc, is set in old Hanoi.
The images primarily revolve around an old house, adorned with familiar Tet flowers such as peach blossoms, peonies, and violets. The team chose a simple approach, focusing on the space and emotions rather than elaborate staging.

As the singer of the song, Tran Thu Ha said she found a lot of empathy in this composition. Having spent many years celebrating Tet away from home, the female singer said that Tet is a "beautiful moment of tranquility" for her.
"Tet (Lunar New Year) isn't necessarily about stopping, but about taking a deeper breath. It's a time to reflect on the past, accept imperfections, and gently move forward," Tran Thu Ha shared.
For the singer, happiness during Tet (Lunar New Year) is sometimes very simple: a meal with family and friends, or the moment of standing on stage and seeing the audience fall silent because of a familiar song.
