On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Italy, within the framework of the Vietnam-Italy Year 2023 in Venice, the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy organized a series of welcoming activities.
Among them are the fashion show "Hoa - Armonia" by designer Hoang Hai and the visit of Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Duong Hai Hung to the Vietnamese Language Department of Ca' Foscari University to show appreciation for the good friendship, enhance mutual understanding and open up many great cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
A particularly prominent and meaningful highlight in the series of activities within the framework of the Vietnam-Italy Year 2023 in Venice is the fashion show " Hoa - Armonia ," which took place on the evening of June 16, with the participation of more than 150 people, including representatives of agencies, the government of the Veneto region, the city of Venice, agencies, cultural organizations, media, friendship associations, businesses, fashion lovers, Italian friends and the Vietnamese community .
Speaking at the fashion show , Ambassador Duong Hai Hung emphasized his wish that the fashion show would bring to Italian friends the image of the country and people of Vietnam, which are friendly, hospitable, rich in national identity, youthful, and modern, helping the people of the two countries understand each other better, further strengthening the good friendship as well as enhancing cooperation between Vietnam and the Veneto region and the city of Venice.

Those present at the fashion show were impressed with the products from three collections of luxurious ao dai, high-end evening gowns and romantic, flowing wedding dresses, but with the same theme of Harmony - aiming at connecting and exchanging cultures and people of the two countries.
According to designer Hoang Hai, the ao dai designs feature landscapes and wonders of Vietnam and Italy such as Turtle Tower, Hoan Kiem Lake, and peach blossoms, with the main materials being velvet and brocade. The images on the ao dai are completely hand-embroidered by craftsmen and were completed within 6 months.
The ao dai collections were performed by famous Vietnamese and Italian models such as Miss Universe Italy 2021 Caterina Di Fuccia, Miss H'Hen Nie, Tran Tieu Vy and experienced models in the city of Venice, bringing a dreamy, classic beauty on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Italy diplomatic relations.
Speaking to VNA reporters, Director of the Venice City Heritage Department, Ms. Paola Mar, who has visited Vietnam three times and hopes to return soon, stated: “In the context of the two countries celebrating 50 years of bilateral friendship, today's event is very important for Venice, one of the cultural and fashion centers of the world. I believe that expanding and developing international relations is a traditional strength of the city of Venice and this is another new opportunity to promote trade and cooperation because culture is also a foundation for economic and commercial development."
"Vietnam is a developing country with great potential for cooperation with international businesses, including Italian businesses. Fashion is one of the areas where Vietnam and Italy can cooperate to promote the relationship between the two countries," said Ms. Paola Mar.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Duong Hai Hung shared: “We appreciate the active support and patronage of the Veneto region government and the Venice city government for the fashion show celebrating 50 years of Vietnam - Italy diplomatic relations. We chose Venice not only to introduce the wonderful beauty of this city to the Vietnamese public, but also because this is a place with a brilliant historical tradition of East-West exchange, as well as a place with many connections with Vietnam, such as the first Vietnamese language department in Italy opened at Ca' Foscari University. We believe that this event will help further enhance the understanding of the people of the two countries, as well as further strengthen the cooperation between Vietnam and the Veneto region as well as the city of Venice.”
Previously, on the afternoon of June 15, at a working session with teachers and students of the Vietnamese Language Department of Ca' Foscari University, Ambassador Duong Hai Hung provided updated information about Vietnam, the country of the language they are studying, as well as the relationship between the two countries.
The Ambassador appreciated the contributions of teachers and students of the Vietnamese Language Department and pledged to support the Vietnamese language department as well as promote the image of Venice in general and Ca' Foscari University in particular.
Students of the Vietnamese Language Department gave heartfelt speeches and performed Quan Ho and excerpts from the Tale of Kieu to report on their academic achievements.
Professor Fabrizio Marrella, Vice Rector of Ca' Foscari University, emphasized that now is the time for the school to strengthen its relationship with Vietnam more than ever, not only in the fields of culture and education but also in bridging the gap between Italian and Vietnamese businesses.

Speaking to VNA reporters, Professor Marrella said: “Our Ca' Fosca University is currently implementing two very effective cooperation programs with Ho Chi Minh City University. In particular, we are very happy that through these programs, more and more Vietnamese students and teachers are present in Venice and more and more Venetians are in Vietnam. This is a great moment, because it not only marks 50 years of cooperation between Italy and Vietnam, but also shows an increasingly strong development direction. Our cooperation with the Italian Employers' Confederation (Confindustria) will open up opportunities for businesses to enhance economic cooperation and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Italy.”
Ms. Le Thi Bich Huong, a Vietnamese language practice instructor, said: “I am very honored to work here. With the help of the school, we have had the first bachelor's degree graduates and this is the first regular Vietnamese language course in Italy. The graduates all hope to continue what they have learned to help businesses and in translation to help Italian people understand Vietnam better, as well as to be a bridge in terms of language and culture. They become ambassadors connecting the two countries in the fields of culture and language."
Two Vietnamese fashion and cultural events in Venice contributed to strengthening the relationship between the countries and bringing the people of the two countries closer together./.
