According to Olivier Brochet, the French Ambassador to Vietnam, Professor Do Van Dai has just been awarded the Order of the Knight of the Academic Palms by decree of the French Prime Minister . This is France's recognition of Professor Do Van Dai's important contributions to the development of cooperative relations between the two countries.
His contributions have played a significant role in strengthening legal cooperation between Vietnam and France, particularly through exchanges between legal practitioners, academics, and students, aiming to revitalize and develop the Francophone legal community in Vietnam.
Professor Do Van Dai is the only person with the academic title of professor at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
Professor Do Van Dai was born in 1974. He graduated with a Bachelor of Law (1999), a Master of Law (2000), and a Doctor of Law (2004) from Aix-Marseille III University (Republic of France). After studying, researching, and teaching in France, he returned to Vietnam in 2007 and has worked at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law ever since. He was recognized as an Associate Professor by the State Council of Professors in 2011 and a Professor in 2021.
In 2008, Professor Do Van Dai was appointed Head of the Department of Civil Law. In 2011, he was appointed Acting Head of the Faculty of Civil Law, and subsequently, in 2012, he was appointed Head of the Faculty of Civil Law. After two terms as Head of the Faculty of Civil Law, in 2022, Professor Do Van Dai was assigned to oversee the Vietnam Journal of Legal Science and is currently the Vice Rector of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
Notably, Professor Do Van Dai is currently the only person with the academic title of professor at the school.
