This morning (February 28), Ho Chi Minh City National University organized a seminar on the VN350 program: Attracting, retaining and developing outstanding young scientists and leading scientists working at Ho Chi Minh City National University.

For young scientists, it is necessary to meet at least one of the following four criteria: Have scientific articles published in prestigious journals and conferences; have inventions and patents that have been successfully registered; have transferred scientific and technological products; have new and promising research directions that are consistent with the development strategy of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Regarding treatment, outstanding young scientists and leading scientists participating in the VNU350 program will enjoy support policies from Ho Chi Minh City National University and specific support policies of each recruiting unit.
For outstanding young scientists in the first 2 years, they will be granted 1 type C scientific research topic (maximum budget of 200 million VND). In the third year, they will be granted 1 type B topic (maximum budget of 1 billion VND). In the fourth year, they will be supported to invest in a laboratory for scientific research, with a maximum budget of 10 billion VND. In the fifth year, they will be supported and guided in the procedures and processes for considering and recognizing them as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor.
For leading scientists in the first 2 years, they will be granted 1 type B scientific research project with a maximum budget of 1 billion VND. In the following years, they will be supported to invest in laboratories for scientific research, with a maximum budget of 30 billion VND; supported to establish strong research groups; supported to register to preside over projects at all levels.
Scientists will enjoy income and other benefits according to the specific policies of the unit where the scientist works (including salary, bonuses, allowances, additional income, allowances exceeding teaching standards, seniority allowances, scientific research support, rewards, etc.).
