Preserving and promoting the value of President Ho Chi Minh's heritage to the world

On December 2, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace and Saint Petersburg State University (Russian Federation) for the period 2025 - 2030 took place in Hanoi.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that this is an important event in the process of enhancing cultural, educational and research cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. Over the years, the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace and Saint Petersburg State University have undertaken the noble mission of preserving, researching, promoting and disseminating cultural and historical values, especially the values ​​of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style. The persistent efforts of the two units have actively contributed to enhancing understanding, people-to-people exchange and promoting friendly relations between the two countries.

According to Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the 2025-2030 period marks a new development step in the cooperative relationship between the two units; at the same time, it concretizes the important orientations of the Cultural Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, signed on January 14, 2025. The Memorandum opens up many opportunities for the two sides to promote heritage conservation, enhance scientific research, expand professional exchanges, academic exchanges and promote the unique cultural values ​​of each nation.

Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will always accompany and create favorable conditions for the two units to effectively implement the agreed cooperation contents; at the same time, encourage the expansion of professional exchange activities, research, academic exchanges and knowledge sharing, contributing to improving the quality of each side's activities, in accordance with the characteristics and strengths of each unit; thereby spreading more deeply the eternal values ​​of Ho Chi Minh's heritage, while continuing to foster the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

At the signing ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Phuong, Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, said that for the first time after 10 years of building a cooperative relationship between Saint Petersburg State University and the Presidential Palace Relic Site, the two units agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the 2025-2030 period. This event is both a meaningful activity to celebrate a decade of connection and an important milestone opening up a deep cooperative relationship between the two units.

Saint Petersburg State University, which is honored to have the first and only Ho Chi Minh Institute outside of Vietnam, is a world-class scientific, educational and cultural center with a long history, founded in 1724. The President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace is a special National Relic, marking a great man who devoted his entire life to the independence, freedom and happiness of the people. The stilt house in the Relic Site has become a symbol of the nation, people and international solidarity.

According to Ms. Le Thi Phuong, the signed Memorandum of Understanding opens a new phase in the cooperative relationship between the Presidential Palace Relic Site and Saint Petersburg State University, contributing to honoring President Ho Chi Minh on a global scale and promoting international cooperation in scientific research between the two units.

The Memorandum of Cooperation aims to jointly create international academic products, contributing to clarifying the stature of the Vietnamese national liberation hero and outstanding cultural figure Ho Chi Minh in an objective and scientific manner, while continuing to affirm the depth of value in honoring President Ho Chi Minh abroad, according to Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW dated August 19, 2020 of the Secretariat, on continuing to implement activities to honor President Ho Chi Minh abroad and the Cultural Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for the period 2025 - 2027.

Mr. Segey Andryushin, Vice Rector in charge of International Relations of Saint Petersburg State University, expressed that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two units aims to better preserve the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh, while contributing to the development of good friendship between the Russian Federation and Vietnam.

Throughout his revolutionary career, President Ho Chi Minh always had a special affection for Russia and the Soviet people. President Ho Chi Minh repeatedly affirmed the great role of the October Revolution in his path to national salvation; at the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to the Soviet people for their selfless and wholehearted assistance to Vietnam in the struggle for national liberation, as well as in the cause of national construction. That affection has become a priceless spiritual heritage, laying the foundation for the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, which continues to be preserved and nurtured through many generations.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two units was held in a particularly meaningful context: Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation (1950 - 2025) and 10 years of cooperation between Saint Petersburg State University and the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace (2015 - 2025). In the Memorandum of Understanding, the two sides agreed on a number of key contents such as: Coordinating the organization of scientific events and important commemorative activities of the two countries, especially days related to President Ho Chi Minh; supporting internship programs for students of Saint Petersburg State University at the Presidential Palace Relic Site; coordinating the collection of artifacts, documents, folders and information related to Ho Chi Minh's heritage and Vietnam - Russia relations; organizing communication activities, enhancing scientific research cooperation, inviting experts to participate in seminars, talks and exhibitions of the two sides; coordinate the publication and exchange of new publications about President Ho Chi Minh and the history of relations between the two countries...

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation is an important step in the good friendship between the two units, contributing to strengthening the relationship and enhancing mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and the Russian Federation in the new era.
