Venezuelan business community admires Vietnam's achievements

The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela coordinated with the Trade Office, the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and the Caracas Stock Exchange to organize the Vietnam-Venezuela Business Forum 2025.

Within the framework of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on April 29, the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela coordinated with the Trade Office, the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CAVENVIET) and the Caracas Stock Exchange (BVC) to organize the Vietnam-Venezuela Business Forum 2025.

The forum was attended by more than 70 Venezuelan and Vietnamese businesses, government representatives and local diplomatic missions.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Chairman of the Caracas Stock Exchange (BVC) José Grasso Vecchio warmly congratulated the Vietnamese people on the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, affirming that this is an important milestone and foundation for Vietnam to firmly enter a new era of national construction and development.

According to the Chairman of BVC, with a history of more than 78 years of formation and development, BVC hopes that the Vietnam-Venezuela Business Forum 2025 will contribute to promoting economic and trade relations between the two countries, creating a useful exchange space between associations, businesses and organizations of the two countries to promote bilateral cooperation.

On behalf of the Venezuelan Government , Mr. Jimmy Alexander Berrios - Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance and President of the National Treasury of Venezuela - said that Venezuela's economy has maintained continuous growth momentum from 2021 to present, in which the first quarter of 2025 recorded a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of about 4.5%.

Meanwhile, Venezuela is also applying many preferential policies to attract foreign investment, especially from countries with traditional relationships such as Vietnam.

Sharing with delegates attending the Forum, Chairman of the National Stock Exchange (SUNAVAL) Carlos Enrique Herrera expressed his admiration for Vietnam's achievements in socio-economic development, especially always linking economic development with improving and enhancing people's lives.

In addition, Mr. Carlos Enrique Herrera also appreciated the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela for coordinating the organization of the Business Forum, considering this an opportunity for the business communities of the two countries to explore cooperation and investment opportunities to promote bilateral trade, especially in the context of Vietnam entering a new era of development, an era of national growth.

For his part, Ambassador Vu Trung My affirmed the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam, always valuing the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership with Venezuela, wishing to deepen economic, trade and investment relations for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

Ambassador Vu Trung My also frankly pointed out that the current trade relations between the two countries are still modest, not commensurate with the potential, strengths as well as the good political relations between the two countries; hoping that businesses of the two countries, especially the private business community, maintain regular exchange mechanisms, find cooperation mechanisms suitable to the potential of both sides, contributing to promoting the economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Venezuela in the coming time.

Within the framework of the Forum, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Venezuela coordinated with chambers of commerce in countries in the region to introduce to delegates an overview of Vietnam's economy, its potentials and strengths in Vietnam's products in Venezuela and the Latin American market.

In the spirit of cooperation and openness, Vietnamese and Venezuelan businesses actively discussed the potential, strengths and needs of each side's market to seek cooperation opportunities in various fields.

On this occasion, CAVENVIET Chairman Oswaldo Hernández and General Director of Hoang Gia Viet International Food Joint Stock Company - Mr. Nguyen Khac Hoang signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on introducing, promoting and distributing Vietnamese agricultural machinery in the Venezuelan and Latin American markets.
