Introducing the model of growing and producing black termite mushrooms at households

(CT) - On the morning of December 8, the Management Board of the Hau Giang High-Tech Agricultural Zone organized a field workshop on the model of growing and producing black termite mushrooms at households. About 20 delegates including local leaders, agricultural extension officers and farmers attended.

The workshop introduced the black termite mushroom growing model at Mrs. Nguyen Thi Muoi's household in Hamlet 7, Vi Thuy Commune, with an area of ^​​30m2 , a scale of 2,000 mushroom spawns. The model was deployed from September, with technical transfer and financial support from the Management Board of Hau Giang High-Tech Agricultural Zone.

After 20-35 days from the time of planting, the mushrooms can be harvested, the yield of 2,000 embryos ranges from 2-4.5 kg/day. The harvest time lasts 4 months. On average, each embryo yields about 200 grams of mushrooms. With a selling price of 200,000 VND/kg, the model brings in a profit of over 15 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thoai, Director of the Hau Giang High-Tech Agricultural Zone Management Board, said: The model uses a small area, takes advantage of idle labor, and brings high economic efficiency. People can visit and learn from the experience to implement the model at households, process and develop it into local OCOP products. The Management Board is ready to provide technical support for people to replicate the model.
