Giong Trom competes for 45 days and nights to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

Provincial, district and commune leaders took souvenir photos at the house handover ceremony for Mr. Tran Cong Hau, Hung An Tay hamlet, Hung Nhuong commune (Giong Trom).

After reviewing and adjusting the list according to Decision No. 1549/QD-UBND dated May 19, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, Giong Trom district has 278 households in need of support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses (161 completed; 117 under construction); of which, phase 1 has 181 households. In addition, for temporary and dilapidated houses outside the approved list, 35 have been completed and 34 have been started.

Ms. Ngo Thanh Tam, a poor household in Hung Hoa Tay hamlet, Hung Nhuong commune, emotionally shared: The old house was dilapidated, and there was always a fear of it collapsing when it rained or was windy. The Vietnam National Petroleum Group supported her with 50 million VND, and her brother gave her an additional 25 million VND. Together, they built a new house, which is much more beautiful and sturdy than before. From now on, the family can go to work to earn money to pay for their children's education.

Mr. Tran Cong Hau, Hung An Tay hamlet, Hung Nhuong commune, a household with housing difficulties, was happy to receive financial support. He was able to build a new house with an area of ^49.5m2 , costing 81 million VND ( the Ministry of National Defense supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by his family). From now on, he has a solid house and can focus on developing his family's economy.

Carry out a 45-day and night emulation to accelerate the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district (from May 15 to June 30, 2025) to complete the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district. Sectors compete with sectors, communes compete with communes to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. The Steering Committee requests communes and towns that have completed the construction of houses to quickly organize the handover of houses to the people (Phase 1 from May 15 to 20, 2025; Phase 2 from June 20 to 25, 2025).

Secretary of the District Party Committee - Head of the District Steering Committee Nguyen Thai Binh , said: The District Steering Committee assigned the Standing Office of the District Steering Committee (Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas) to monitor, periodically summarize reports to the District Steering Committee and propose competent authorities to consider timely rewards for individuals, agencies, units and localities that have completed their tasks well. Requesting sectors, communes and towns to further strengthen propaganda work, mobilize donors, benefactors, and sponsors inside and outside the district; at the same time, focus on mobilizing contributions from households with conditions in the area to ensure the completion of the registered targets before June 15, 2025.

Communes and towns shall publicize the results of fundraising in households of each hamlet and neighborhood on the commune radio station every day. The District Culture - Sports and Broadcasting Center shall publicly announce the results of fundraising in households of each commune and town on the district radio station every week to promote propaganda work to create consensus among the people on this policy. Members of the District Steering Committee shall, according to their assigned functions and tasks, monitor and urge communes and towns to implement it.
