In the early days of the new year, at industrial zones, factories, and production facilities throughout the province, the pace of work remains urgent and steady. The sounds of machinery, the flames from the furnaces, and the hurried footsteps of workers create a vibrant, serious, and responsible working atmosphere, contributing to maintaining a continuous production flow and serving the economic development of the locality.

Within that overall picture, the Lao Cai Copper Smelting Branch - VIMICO is a prime example of maintaining production throughout the Tet holiday. At the branch's two plants, hundreds of officials, engineers, and workers remained at the furnaces and machinery. Shifts were organized meticulously and scientifically , ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient operation.

At the Electrolysis Workshop 2 of the plant, Mr. Bui Minh Tan, a worker at the Ban Qua Copper Smelting Plant, shared: "From the beginning of the year, especially during Tet (Lunar New Year), we have always determined that we must maintain stable production, work safely, and achieve high efficiency. Each person tries a little harder so that the production line is not interrupted, the new year's plan goes smoothly, thereby contributing to achieving the common goal, and our income will also be increased."

That sense of responsibility contributed to the positive results of the Lao Cai Copper Smelting Branch in 2025. Production of copper cathode reached 31,200 tons; gold bars over 919 kg; sulfuric acid nearly 132,000 tons; and gypsum over 12,000 tons. All key indicators met or exceeded the plan, affirming the effectiveness of technological innovation and production organization.

In addition to maintaining stable production during the Tet holiday, the branch also boosted investment in renovating and upgrading equipment, increasing automation levels in key stages such as smelting, casting, electrolysis, and cathode copper production. Maintenance and servicing were carried out rigorously and regularly, ensuring stable operation of the production line, minimizing breakdowns during peak periods, reducing manual labor, and improving product quality.

The atmosphere at the Ban Qua Copper Smelting Plant is one of intense activity.

Occupational safety and environmental protection are also given constant attention. Safety procedures and regulations are regularly disseminated to workers; the exhaust gas and wastewater treatment systems operate stably, meeting technical requirements and aiming towards a green and sustainable production model.

At the Ta Phoi Copper Ore Processing Plant and the Ta Phoi Copper Joint Stock Company's mining site, the atmosphere was also bustling with activity during the Tet holiday, with machinery operating continuously and production teams taking turns on shifts to ensure progress and quality.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Quy, foreman of the Mechanical and Mineral Processing Workshop at the Ta Phoi Copper Ore Processing Plant, said: "The staff and workers in the workshop always work actively during Tet. With the timely attention and encouragement from the company through increased meal allowances and Tet gifts, the workers feel even more secure and committed, enthusiastically competing and determined to complete and strive to exceed the assigned copper concentrate production targets."

A bustling work atmosphere prevails at the Ta Phoi Copper Ore Processing Plant during the Tet holiday.

Thanks to the collective efforts of its employees, in 2025, Ta Phoi Copper Joint Stock Company produced over 31,300 tons of copper concentrate; revenue reached over 1,369 billion VND; and profit exceeded 170 billion VND, nearly three times higher than planned.

Entering 2026, the company aims to mine 1 million tons of raw ore, process 30,525 tons of copper concentrate, and maintain the production pace established from the beginning of the year.

According to Mr. Pham Manh Ha, Deputy Director of Ta Phoi Copper Joint Stock Company, the unit maintained the operation of the mineral processing plant throughout the Tet holiday, arranging sufficient staff on duty and scheduling 24/7 leadership shifts to maintain production stability and create favorable conditions for the whole year.

Along with copper smelting and processing units, many factories of Vietnam Apatite One-Member Limited Company also maintained operations throughout the Tet holiday, notably the Tang Loong Processing Plant, the Cam Duong Processing Plant, the Railway Transport Branch, the Loading and Unloading - Consumption Enterprise, etc. Maintaining continuous production contributes to ensuring the supply of raw materials for processing industries, while also ensuring jobs for workers.

In 2025, Vietnam Apatite One-Member Limited Company achieved many positive results. Industrial production value at current prices reached VND 3,934.8 billion, exceeding the annual plan, increasing by 3.5% compared to the plan and by 11.7% compared to 2024. Total output reached 1.9 million tons, completing 100% of the plan; revenue reached VND 3,950 billion, equivalent to 116.8% of the annual plan.

Entering 2026, the company continues to aim for stable operations, ensuring jobs and income for its employees, while also protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.

The Bac Ha Hydropower Plant is operating smoothly with its entire electricity production line running.

Besides metallurgy and mining, the energy sector in Lao Cai province also maintains continuous operation. Currently, the province has 105 completed hydropower projects that have been put into operation, with a total installed capacity of 1,768.85 MW.
