Silently achieving victory
In the former Gia Lai province, the predecessor of the Internal Political Security Department was the Internal Security Force, established in January 1960. During the resistance war against the US, the Internal Political Security Force of the Provincial Public Security investigated, uncovered, and dismantled many enemy intelligence organizations, eliminating and arresting hundreds of individuals, including many ringleaders and ruthless criminals; contributing to cleaning up the area and promptly preventing the conspiracy of internal and external collusion and subversive activities of reactionary forces.
Since the reunification of the country, the Internal Security Forces have advised and guided Party committees, government agencies, departments, and mass organizations at all levels to raise revolutionary vigilance among cadres, Party members, and the people.
At the same time, we must continue to dismantle the enemy's old base networks, fight against espionage, and protect the Party's ideological foundation and the socio-economic development of the country and the locality.
In the former Binh Dinh province, in 1964, the Binh Dinh Security Committee was established in Tu Krong commune (now Vinh Son commune), which included the internal security unit (B4) - the predecessor of today's internal security force. The task assigned to B4 at that time was to focus on ensuring the absolute safety of the Provincial Party Committee's headquarters; protecting revolutionary bases and troop transport corridors of the army and various sectors in the province, as well as the leadership of the Regional Party Committee and the Provincial Party Committee...
During the years of resistance against the US, the B4 force achieved many victories, contributing to breaking many large-scale enemy operations, and detecting and dismantling many espionage elements.
After the reunification of the country, the Provincial Police established an anti-espionage team under the National Security and Intelligence Force. The team promptly discovered several enemy espionage bases and thwarted many of their intelligence plans, such as those in Cao Phong, Hai Trieu, Do Ban 1, and Do Ban 2…
Entering the period of reform, hostile forces intensified their subversive activities. The Internal Security Forces firmly grasped the situation, successfully advised on and thwarted many sabotage plans by the enemy; and organized a campaign to crack down on reactionary and decadent cultural products throughout the province.
The proposal recommends removing 37 people from state agencies who do not meet political qualifications; and transferring 54 people who are not trustworthy from positions and work in confidential and essential departments of the Party and State.

Following the provincial merger, the Internal Security Department proposed numerous policies and solutions to ensure internal security, protect state secrets, and address security and order issues in the fields of education and training, health, and socio-economic affairs; and developed plans to ensure security and order in key areas and targets.
In addition, the unit has performed well as the standing agency of the Provincial Steering Committee 35 in gathering information and guiding public opinion; proactively reviewing and coordinating the remediation of security vulnerabilities, verifying and strictly handling violators.
To better meet the demands and tasks of the new era, officers and soldiers of the Internal Security Department are striving to improve their political fortitude, cultivate moral character and lifestyle, and enhance their professional skills and capabilities; the entire unit is determined to achieve many victories.
The provincial security forces have been awarded many prestigious honors by the Party and the State, such as: 2 Third-Class Military Merit Orders, Second and Third-Class Orders of National Defense; 4 Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister; and numerous Certificates of Merit from ministries, departments, and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Hundreds of individuals were awarded the Order of Resistance against the American War for National Salvation, the Glorious Soldier Medal; they received commendations from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Public Security, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and the Director of the Provincial Public Security Department; and 4 comrades were recognized as outstanding emulation soldiers of the entire force.
Colonel Nguyen Toan Thang - Head of the Internal Security Department (Provincial Police) said: "In the coming time, the Party Committee and the unit's leadership will continue to lead and direct the professional teams to strengthen and proactively gather information early and from afar, avoiding being passive or surprised in any situation."
At the same time, we must strengthen propaganda, raise revolutionary vigilance, and enhance the "self-resistance" capabilities of cadres and Party members; focus on combating manifestations of "self-evolution," "self-transformation," corruption, negativity, ideological and political degradation, moral and lifestyle decay, and violations of the law, combined with proactive prevention, active detection, and combating according to the principle of protecting internal political security, proactively preventing and maintaining internal stability as the main focus.
