Contribute to the development of Quang Tri golf movement

Although he has only been with the team for a short time, coach Hoang Van Tung (born in 1996), from Dinh Muoi village, Gia Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province, has made many positive contributions to the development of the golf movement in Quang Tri. He and many Quang Tri athletes have competed and achieved high results in a number of major golf tournaments nationwide. In addition, Mr. Tung also enthusiastically advised and supported in organizing golf tournaments from 3D to reality for Quang Tri golfers.

Choose Quang Tri to develop your career

The story of Coach Hoang Van Tung and his journey to golf has many interesting things. From a student majoring in Mathematics Education at Quang Binh University, he unexpectedly fell in love with golf.

“During my university years, due to difficult circumstances, after school I worked as an event server at restaurants to earn money to pay for my studies and living expenses. In 2018, a friend invited me to go to FLC Quang Binh golf course to pick up balls to earn more than my other part-time jobs. I didn’t expect this to be an important turning point that marked a big change in my life. Golf has given me wings to do many good things,” he recounted.

Taking advantage of the times he picked up balls for hire and assisted golfers, Mr. Tung began to learn about golf, watching golfers practice and compete directly to learn. Having a natural athletic ability, he quickly grasped and practiced well the techniques from basic to advanced in golf.

In addition, with the will to improve, he asked more good coaches and athletes to give him dedicated guidance. When he had a good foundation of knowledge and skills, Tung instructed newcomers to the course. Seeing that the young man had a passion and good ability to play golf as well as a good teaching method, some coaches advised Tung to study to become a golf coach.

In 2019, after graduating from Quang Binh University, he decided to devote himself to golf, gradually building his reputation by winning many high achievements such as: first prize in Group C of the FLC Sam Son Golf Tournament in 2019; first prize in Group B of the Quang Binh Golf Association Tournament in 2021; second prize in Group B of the Bamboo Airways Golf Tournament in 2022... In September 2022, Mr. Tung was granted a Level 1 Golf Coach certificate by the Vietnam Golf Association.

Coach Hoang Van Tung shared: “In November 2022, I officially came to Quang Tri at the invitation of Ms. Nguyen Hong Le, owner of 3D-L golf room “golf in Dong Ha” and some Quang Tri golfers to work as a coach. From now on, I have decided to stick with this land and cherish many plans to support golfers as well as contribute my efforts to the development of the golf movement.”

The first "sweet fruits"

Talking and directly watching Coach Hoang Van Tung enthusiastically instructing the golfers, we clearly saw his passion and responsibility for his work. He recounted that in the past, he had received many invitations to work as a coach and trainer at large golf courses with good working conditions and benefits, but he refused to choose Quang Tri. According to Mr. Tung, Quang Tri still faces many difficulties in golf and he wants to be trained in this environment to mature, and at the same time build a unique golf coaching and training style for himself.

With the desire to contribute and actively support golfers on the 3D course and help them confidently compete on large golf courses in reality, at the 3D-L golf room "golf in Dong Ha, Coach Hoang Van Tung is always available 24/7 to support golfers, and at the same time accepts to teach individual and group courses, adjust techniques by session, by club and by the golfers' individual requirements.

In addition to teaching 3D golf, Mr. Tung also enthusiastically supports golfers in improving their techniques, psychology, and competitive spirit at golf courses in Quang Tri and several other provinces and cities. Currently, he is teaching and providing advanced training to more than 20 golfers in Quang Tri. With professional and systematic training from specialized coaches, golfers are increasingly improving their techniques, skills, and competitive spirit in golf tournaments nationwide.

Golfer Phan Van Ngoc said: “I have been playing golf since December 2022. In the first months of getting used to it, I encountered many difficulties because I did not understand the rules clearly, made technical errors in hitting the ball, was confused and lacked confidence when participating in tournaments. With Mr. Tung's dedicated guidance, I overcame my weaknesses, especially being more confident when interacting and competing with good golfers in the Central region."

Since receiving support in many aspects from Coach Hoang Van Tung, Quang Tri golfers have confidently registered to participate in many major golf tournaments with the determination to achieve high results. Notable examples include: golfer Phan Van Ngoc won first prize in Group C of the Le Thuy Club Golf Tournament in 2023, first prize in Group D of the Tuyen Hoa Club Golf Tournament in 2023. At the Quang Binh Championship - Truong Thinh Cup in 2023, golfer Nguyen Tri Huu won second prize in Group D, golfer Ngo Anh Sang won third prize in Group D...

Through these achievements, Quang Tri golfers have gradually affirmed their position in the Central region tournaments. In addition to teaching and advanced training, Mr. Tung also actively supports those who are passionate about Quang Tri golf in organizing and operating tournaments, developing competition rules, and professional work... to successfully organize 3D golf tournaments and golf tournaments on real grass fields in Quang Binh. Notably, the 1st L'Golf Quang Tri Cup 2023 was held at FLC Quang Binh golf course, attracting 60 Quang Tri golfers. The success of this tournament has contributed to building the Quang Tri golf brand in the Central region.

“Since coming to Quang Tri, I have had more opportunities to develop my golf skills, participating in a number of tournaments with high results; at the same time, doing a good job of teaching, coaching, and providing advanced training for golfers. For me, the development and satisfaction of golfers is the most prestigious measure of a coach. In the coming time, I will arrange time to improve my coaching skills, provide specific training for each golfer before each tournament so that they can achieve more new achievements. From there, golfers will actively contribute to the development of Quang Tri golf movement,” said coach Hoang Van Tung.
