Promoting traditional cultural values within the national cultural flow, coupled with rejuvenating the heritage preservation workforce, is one of the key tasks that Tuyen Quang is focusing on in the new phase, especially after implementing the two-tiered local government model.
This was also a topic that received much feedback from officials, Party members, and the people regarding the draft documents submitted to the 14th Party Congress.
To make culture an endogenous resource.
Contributing his opinion on the cultural content mentioned in the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang province, commented that the content on culture is expressed profoundly and comprehensively, reflecting the Party's viewpoint that culture is the spiritual foundation of society, both a goal and a driving force for sustainable national development.
The orientation for cultural development in this new phase is entirely consistent with practical requirements; at the same time, it is highly aligned with the goal of building an advanced Vietnamese culture, rich in national identity, and valuing both preservation and development.
In reality, when culture is placed at the center of development, it becomes a tremendous endogenous resource. For the Tuyen Quang region, this is a harmonious connection between sacred historical spaces, where the Vietnamese revolution originated and spread, and majestic natural wonders bearing the distinct mark of global geological significance.
From the Tan Trao Special National Monument to the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark, from the Na Hang-Lam Binh reservoir to Ma Pi Leng Pass, from the dazzling Thanh Tuyen Festival to the heartwarming Khau Vai market… all create a vibrant heritage landscape with historical depth, spatial breadth, and aspirational height.
Notably, the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, Tuyen Quang, Vietnam, was recently awarded the title of "Dong Van Karst Plateau, Tuyen Quang, Vietnam - Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2025."
This is one of the most prestigious categories of the World Tourism Awards, honoring destinations with outstanding achievements in preserving indigenous cultures, developing sustainable tourism, and conserving natural ecosystems.

The World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) recently honored Lo Lo Chai – a small village located at the foot of the Lung Cu flagpole (Tuyen Quang province) – as the “World’s Best Tourist Village in 2025.”
Regarding the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa stated that one issue requiring special attention is the preservation and promotion of the traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups.
Therefore, he suggested that the Party and the State pay more attention to policies that reward and honor artisans, those who are tirelessly preserving and transmitting national cultural values; promote traditional cultural education in schools; encourage the formation of community cultural spaces, helping heritage to "live" in contemporary life; and focus on preserving, exploiting, and strongly promoting cultural heritage values.
Prioritize investment resources for preserving ethnic minority cultural villages in conjunction with tourism development; restore and renovate historical and revolutionary relics; and promote digital transformation in cultural management and promotion.
Cultural development is not only about preserving heritage, but also about building soft power and creating an important spiritual resource to promote tourism and local economic development.
This is also a content that needs to be further emphasized and concretized in the documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party, so that culture truly becomes a driving force for the development of people and the country in the new era.
Rejuvenating the team responsible for preserving and disseminating culture.
Tuyen Quang is a land rich in identity, with unique cultural heritage such as: the Thanh Tuyen Festival, Then singing, Coi singing; the cultural spaces of the Tay, Dao, and Mong ethnic groups...
This is a valuable resource, both a source of national pride and a foundation for the development of cultural tourism. To preserve and spread these values, the role of the younger generation is extremely important.
Contributing her opinion on this matter, Ms. Duong Minh Nguyet, Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union, stated that in the context of integration and development, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values associated with sustainable tourism development is one of the key tasks of Tuyen Quang province.
In particular, young people, being a dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic force, must be considered a crucial factor and a pioneering force in preserving and promoting traditional culture.
Over the past period, the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union has implemented many activities such as organizing competitions to learn about ethnic culture, guiding young people in community tourism, and promoting Tuyen Quang culture on digital platforms.

The unit also collaborates with the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to train local youth in tourism skills, encouraging tourism startup models linked to local culture, contributing to preserving identity and creating sustainable livelihoods.
Typically, many young people in localities within the province such as Lam Binh, Na Hang, Chiem Hoa, Dong Van... have become community tourism guides, introducing ethnic culture to domestic and international tourists. They are the "cultural ambassadors" of their homeland, contributing to spreading the image of Tuyen Quang as a friendly and hospitable place both domestically and internationally.
According to Duong Minh Nguyet, Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union, the inclusion of extracurricular lessons on traditional culture in schools is being implemented in many localities throughout the province, helping students to access, learn about, and be proud of their national cultural values at an early age.
Activities such as learning Then singing, Tac Xinh dancing, and experiencing traditional crafts not only awaken love for the homeland but also foster a sense of preserving heritage in the younger generation.
Many exemplary young artisans have emerged, who are both learning and creating to "breathe life" into national culture, spreading traditional values in a more accessible and modern way.
To further promote the role of youth, the Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union proposed the need for more support mechanisms and policies to encourage innovative entrepreneurship in the cultural and tourism sectors; creating an environment for young people to learn, experience, and contribute.
When young people are truly given opportunities and confidence, they will become the pioneering force in taking the traditional cultural values of the nation further, becoming the driving force for sustainable national development.
