Born and raised in Hoang Loc land with a rich revolutionary tradition and studious spirit, Le Trong Linh had a dream of wearing a green military uniform since childhood. With that dream, and the encouragement of family and friends, in 2016, Le Trong Linh passed the entrance exam to the Army Officer School 1. In the early days in the military environment, Le Trong Linh clearly identified his motivation and goals in studying. And in his second year of study, Linh was honored to be in the ranks of the Party. Summarizing 4 years of study, Le Trong Linh graduated with honors, ranked 2nd in the entire course and was awarded the rank of Lieutenant.
After graduating in 2020, Le Trong Linh was assigned to work at Battalion 40, Regiment 762, Provincial Military Command as the Platoon Leader of the 12.7mm Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun Platoon. This is the main unit of the Provincial Military Command, with very high training intensity and mission requirements, often assigned with sudden tasks such as combat readiness, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, participating in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic... Although he initially encountered many difficulties and challenges, with the spirit and will of a revolutionary soldier, Le Trong Linh always considered it an opportunity to train, strive and mature. During his work, he was always enthusiastic, volunteering to take on new and difficult tasks to test himself, learn from experience and become more and more confident in his work.
In his assigned position and responsibilities, Mr. Le Trong Linh is always deeply aware that studying and training must be done regularly; self-cultivation and striving must be promoted more than ever, because all his actions and deeds not only have personal significance, but also serve as an example for officers and soldiers under his command to follow. Not only focusing on building typical and advanced individuals, he always aims to build a united, strong collective, ready to receive and excellently complete all assigned tasks.
Through the process of studying, working and drawing many experiences from practice, Mr. Le Trong Linh realized that emulation does not necessarily have to start from big things but from the smallest, simplest things in daily work. For soldiers, emulation is shown in daily behavior, words and actions. That is to strictly maintain etiquette and manners; be punctual, proper; have a sense of responsibility, honesty and always be exemplary in all circumstances.
According to the organization's mobilization and assignment, in 2024, Le Trong Linh was assigned to the position of Platoon Leader of the 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun Platoon, Dao Me Mixed Battalion, Defense Command of Region 5 - Tinh Gia. Taking on a new mission on a remote island with many difficulties and shortages, Platoon Leader Le Trong Linh could not avoid worries and concerns. However, with the youthfulness, enthusiasm and dedication of a "Uncle Ho's Soldier", he strived to overcome all challenges with his comrades and teammates on the island, successfully completing the assigned tasks, contributing to further enhancing the glorious tradition of the Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces.
On Me Island, his unit mainly takes advantage of natural rainwater, while the current power source still has to use hourly generators. “In the summer days of April and May, the hot weather lasted for a long time, the water reserves and underground water sources on the island were almost exhausted, making the soldiers' lives difficult. With the responsibility of a commander in charge of a unit stationed far from the center, I always wondered and found a solution. After consulting with the Battalion Commander and carefully studying, I organized officers and soldiers to go deep into the forest to find underground water sources, and pulled water pipes from the forest to the unit for daily use. Although the amount of water collected was not much, it was truly precious drops of water that helped the unit overcome the difficult period. Along with that, I always reminded and encouraged soldiers to raise awareness of saving and using water reasonably, ensuring the lives of the brothers in the unit,” said Platoon Leader Le Trong Linh.
Remembering Uncle Ho's teaching: "To guide the masses, we must set an example for others to follow", during his work, Platoon Leader Le Trong Linh has always been exemplary in both words and deeds for soldiers to follow, creating motivation and spreading the spirit of emulation throughout the unit. In recognition of his outstanding contributions over the past 5 years, Platoon Leader Le Trong Linh has been awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level 3 times (2020, 2023, 2024), 2 times awarded the title of Advanced Fighter (2021, 2022), and has received many Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee, along with many certificates of merit from all levels.
“Although the achievements are not many, they are the motivation for me to continue training, improving my mettle and combat skills, and better completing my mission on the front line of the outpost island,” Platoon Leader Le Trong Linh confided.
