Immediately after docking, passengers on the Westerdam cruise ship were taken to visit Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu, Ha Long city tour, and many other cultural and historical destinations in Hanoi and Hai Phong. International travel agencies highly appreciate the quality of infrastructure, services and landscapes of Quang Ninh, considering it a strategic destination in the Southeast Asian sea tourism itinerary.
Both Westerdam and Star Voyager are "regular guests" of Ha Long International Passenger Port. In 2025, Star Voyager docked for the fourth time, while Westerdam marked its first visit of the year, after two successful visits in 2024. The fact that major cruise lines continuously choose Ha Long as a stopover shows the growing attractiveness of the heritage city to the luxury tourist segment.
Affirming the position of the leading international tourist port
According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, by the end of October 2025, Ha Long International Passenger Port had welcomed 44 international cruise ships, with 56,647 passengers, an increase of 9% over the same period last year. Tourists mainly came from Europe, the US and China, reflecting the strong recovery of cruise tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Pham Van Hiep, Director of Ha Long International Passenger Port, said: "The continuous arrival of international super yachts at the port is a testament to the strong growth of Vietnam's sea tourism. Ha Long is making an impressive comeback on the regional tourism map, becoming a gateway connecting the world with Vietnam's heritage."
As the first international passenger port in Vietnam specifically designed for large cruise ships, Ha Long International Passenger Port is capable of receiving two ships with a capacity of over 200,000 GT at the same time, with modern infrastructure, international standard services and optimal service procedures.
Since its operation in 2018, Ha Long International Passenger Port has welcomed 209 luxury cruise ships, serving nearly 280,000 international visitors, contributing to affirming Quang Ninh's position as the leading cruise tourism center in Vietnam.
