Giai Phong Street is being renovated and refurbished.

According to the reporter's observation, the roadway, median strip, and sidewalk on many streets have been fenced off for renovation and repair.

On Dai Tu Street (Hoang Mai District), the section from Giai Phong to Nguyen Canh Di Street, over 1 km long, is being resurfaced, and the traffic sign system is being replaced and supplemented.

Mr. Hoang Van Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance, Hanoi Department of Transport, said that because Dai Tu Street has a lower road surface than the surrounding area, flooding often occurs when it rains. Therefore, in this renovation and repair, the construction units have raised and smoothed the road surface, then resurfaced the asphalt concrete surface, helping to raise the road surface of Dai Tu Street by 5-7cm.

On Giai Phong route, the entire 4.6 km long route running through Hai Ba Trung, Thanh Xuan, Hoang Mai districts... is also being fenced off by construction units to repair many items. In particular, the items currently being fenced off on the roadway are replacing, building concrete median banks, and removing the iron fences above to replace them with galvanized iron fence systems.

In addition, at the intersections of Giai Phong Street through Bach Mai Hospital, Giap Bat bus station and the intersection with Truong Dinh Street... the construction units also dug the foundations and poured pillars to hang traffic signs in the form of gantry or armrests, replacing the current T-shaped sign posts. After completing the construction and installation items, the construction units will also repaint the lanes and add more lane division signs to adjust and reorganize traffic on Giai Phong Street.

A representative of the Hanoi Department of Transport said that the projects are scheduled to be disbursed in 2024, so these works must be constructed and completed from now until December 31, 2024. After completing the construction, including resurfacing the road surface, adding a system of signs and painted lines, the streets will be renovated and repaired, and traffic will be adjusted and reorganized to suit the new situation, especially to meet the large travel needs of people at the end of the year and during the Lunar New Year.
