Hanoi welcomes more than 33.7 million visitors in 2025, up nearly 21% compared to 2024

It is expected that by the end of 2025, Hanoi will welcome more than 33.7 million visitors, accounting for about 22.2% of the total number of visitors nationwide, exceeding the plan at the beginning of the year by 8.7%. The above information was announced by Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Tran Quang at the conference to deploy key tasks of the city's press work in November 2025 organized by the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department on the afternoon of November 13.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tran Quang, more than 28.22 million tourists visited the capital in the first 10 months of the year, including 6.17 million international arrivals (up 23.6%) and 22.05 million domestic arrivals (up 21.4%). Total tourism revenue reached 108.22 trillion VND, up nearly 20% over the same period. On the occasion of National Day September 2, Hanoi welcomed about 2.16 million visitors, three times higher than the same period in 2024, of which international visitors reached more than 80,000 arrivals, tourism revenue during the holiday reached 4.5 trillion VND, up 80%.

The capital's tourism industry is developing a variety of products, from river tourism, metro tourism, night tourism, community tourism, to eco-tourism, spiritual tourism and traditional craft village routes. Events such as the Hanoi Autumn Festival, Hanoi Food and Craft Village - Craft Street Tourism Festival 2025 and the stimulus program "Hanoi people and tourists experience services at 4-5 star hotels" aim to attract domestic tourists and promote the image of the capital as "Safe - Friendly - Quality - Attractive".

Hanoi also focuses on preserving and restoring relics and scenic spots such as Huong Son complex, West Lake, and completing large-scale tourism projects such as hotels at 27-29 Ly Thai To, 58 Tay Ho and Tien Bo Plaza complex. At the same time, the city promotes the application of digital technology in tourism, expands international cooperation and regional linkages, organizes roadshows, Famtrips and Presstrips to promote destinations.

As a result, total revenue is estimated at VND134.46 trillion, up 21.5%, room occupancy rate reached 65.5%, up 3.5% over the previous year, reflecting the strong recovery of the high-end hotel, restaurant and tourism services market.
