Initial information, at around 0:00 on July 19, people living near the Vegetable and Fruit Import-Export Joint Stock Company I (lane 389 Truong Dinh, Tuong Mai ward, Hanoi ) heard a loud explosion, the fire then flared up violently along with a column of black smoke billowing high and a strong burning smell.
The fire caused panic among many residents living near the scene, some households had to move their belongings and evacuate to a safe area.
According to people at the scene, the explosion caused the windows of surrounding houses to shake violently. During the fire, many other explosions were also heard.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force of Hanoi City Police mobilized many specialized fire trucks and officers to the scene to prevent the fire from spreading and urgently control the fire.
At 1:50 a.m., the fire was still raging inside the warehouse area, causing part of the warehouse to collapse and the corrugated iron roof to deform.
According to the authorities, the fire scene is located in a deep alley, so access to extinguish the fire is difficult.
By the morning of the same day, the fire had been basically controlled by the authorities and they are currently continuing to spray water to cool it down and prevent the risk of the fire from re-igniting. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
