Specifically, the peak hours (from 6:30 to 9:00 and from 16:30 to 19:30) have a train frequency of 6 minutes/trip (previously, the peak hours were from 6:30 to 8:30 and from 16:30 to 18:30).
The operating hours are from 5:30 AM to 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a frequency of 10 minutes per trip.
The operating hours are from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM, with a train frequency of 15 minutes per trip (previously, the frequency was 10 minutes per trip).
The operating hours of the urban railway lines remain unchanged from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
For weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays, the frequency of trains running throughout the day on both urban railway lines 2A and 3.1 (elevated section) is 10 minutes per trip.
According to Hanoi Railway Company Limited, the implementation of the new train schedule is a necessary adjustment, in line with Decision No. 01/2026/QD-UBND dated January 4, 2026, of the Hanoi People's Committee on the promulgation of regulations on the operation of road transport vehicles in the city, aiming to optimize transport capacity and provide passengers with a safe, convenient, and environmentally friendly travel experience, especially during peak hours with high passenger traffic density.
Previously, from February 1st, Hanoi Railway Company Limited officially implemented a 100% electronic identification and biometric authentication system for ticket gates on the Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway line 3.1. Meanwhile, from November 2025, Hanoi Metro has deployed an electronic identification and biometric authentication system for ticket gates on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line 2A.
Simultaneously, Hanoi Railway Company Limited has expanded and diversified cashless payment methods through partnerships with many reputable payment providers. Accordingly, passengers can easily use the Hanoi Metro app to pay via bank transfer to domestic bank accounts/cards; use international VISA payment cards; and e-wallets such as MoMo, ShopeePay, VNPT Money, etc., providing maximum convenience for passengers using the service.
During this period, Hanoi Metro also collaborated with partners to implement many attractive promotions and support programs for passengers using cashless payment methods. Specifically, passengers using international Visa payment cards at the ticket gate received a 100% fare discount until February 28th. Passengers purchasing single-trip tickets on the Hanoi Metro app received a 100% fare discount until March 21st, 2026 (applicable only on the Nhon - Hanoi Station Metro Line 3.1).
Additionally, passengers paying for single-trip tickets via ShopeePay will receive a 99% discount on the first 10 tickets each month, valid until February 28th. Passengers using the Momo app and entering the code "METROHN" will receive one free single-trip ticket (up to 10,000 VND). Passengers paying for single-trip tickets via VNPT Money will receive a 100% discount on the ticket price (5 trips/passenger), valid until February 16th. Furthermore, passengers aged 60 and above, children under 6, people with disabilities, and those from impoverished households, etc., are entitled to free tickets in accordance with current regulations and policies of Hanoi city.
