The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee has issued Notice No. 751/TB-VP conveying the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha at the meeting to listen to reports on activities serving people to celebrate the New Year, welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party and Lunar New Year 2026.
Accordingly, to do this well, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction, People's Committees of Hoan Kiem and Cua Nam wards to survey and unify plans for organizing art activities, lighting decoration, 3D Mapping in the central area, Hoan Kiem Lake space and neighboring areas, the City Exhibition Center No. 45 Trang Tien, Trang Tien Street to serve people to celebrate the New Year, welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party and Lunar New Year.
The Department of Culture and Sports guides event organizers to collect opinions from departments, branches, and localities, and complete plans to organize the New Year 2026 program (Countdown 2026); guides event organizers to design an identity system and build a series of supporting activities for the Countdown 2026 program to ensure rich, attractive, and modern content to meet the cultural and artistic enjoyment needs of people and tourists during the New Year's Eve.
In addition, the Department of Culture and Sports reported on the concentrated artistic lighting decoration on central streets to ensure modernity, sophisticated design, and cultural imprint of Hanoi Capital; and advised on the proposal to organize fireworks displays to welcome the New Year 2026 in the city.
The Department of Culture and Sports is also assigned to proactively coordinate with units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Vietnam Television, and related units to research and propose organizing a signature Concert, to be held before New Year's Eve 2026.
The Department of Construction, based on its assigned functions and tasks, develops a plan to enhance lighting and decoration of trees, flower gardens, and streets to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome the New Year 2026, Lunar New Year, and the 14th National Congress of the Party. In particular, the areas focused on decoration include: Headquarters of Central agencies, City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, bridge systems, overpasses, flower gardens, parks, central locations of wards and communes...
