Hanoi determined to remove obstacles and speed up the progress of the Ring Road 2.5 project

Attending the meeting were comrades: Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Trong Dong; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Tran The Cuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan; leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities.

The Ring Road 2.5 has a total length of 19.41km, cross-section of 40-50m, starting point intersecting with Thanh Tri bridgehead road, ending point at Phu Thuong ward. The project started many years ago, has lasted for many years and has not been completed yet. After reviewing the entire Ring Road 2.5 in the city, it is divided into 13 sections. The project has been invested according to the planning of 7.6km, is implementing investment of 9.36km, and 2.45km has not been studied for investment.

Currently, one of the biggest difficulties is site clearance related to 5 sections under construction and 3 sections not yet under construction.

Ring Road 2.5 plays a vital role in the traffic system of Hanoi Capital, contributing to connecting inner-city districts from Phu Thuong to Linh Nam, forming a closed loop to distribute traffic volume, reducing pressure on main roads such as Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3. This route not only promotes socio- economic development, but is also a key solution to solve the traffic congestion problem of the City.

Completion of the remaining sections will be synchronized with other infrastructure projects, helping to reduce travel time, limit rush hour congestion and improve urban air quality. In the context of Hanoi's rapid urbanization, Ring Road 2.5 is a key factor in achieving the goal of infrastructure breakthrough, reducing traffic congestion, one of the 5 bottlenecks that the City is focusing on resolving.

At the conference, Hanoi Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc chaired the discussion between relevant agencies, units and localities to separate and clarify each difficulty and problem that is affecting the situation and progress of project implementation, especially those related to site clearance and investment preparation for new sections...

In his concluding remarks, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested that relevant agencies, units and localities must clearly define political responsibilities to focus wholeheartedly on removing difficulties and obstacles, and implementing the project according to plan.

He especially reminded agencies, units and localities to be very careful in every task, especially in site clearance; focus on basic investigation, grasp the situation, and mobilize people right now. In addition, the City's agencies and units make full use of mechanisms and policies to remove obstacles, ensure the legitimate rights of the people; and be determined to speed up the project's progress to achieve the set goals.

The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee emphasized that this is a key project of the City, which is not only significant for the future development of Hanoi, but also meets the demands of real life and the people, avoiding waste. He requested to mobilize the entire political system to participate, strengthen propaganda and campaign so that people share, support and accompany the City to bring the project to the finish line soon.
