Hanoi is determined to remove obstacles and accelerate the progress of the Ring Road 2.5 project.

Attending the working session were: Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the City People's Committee; Comrade Nguyen Trong Dong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Tran The Cuong, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; and Duong Duc Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; and leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and localities.

The Ring Road 2.5 has a total length of 19.41km, with a cross-section of 40-50m. Its starting point intersects with the approach road to Thanh Tri Bridge, and its end point is in Phu Thuong Ward. The project, which commenced many years ago, has dragged on for many years and remains unfinished. A review of the entire Ring Road 2.5 in the city shows it is divided into 13 sections. 7.6km of the project has been planned for investment, 9.36km is currently under construction, and 2.45km remains unstudied.

Currently, one of the biggest challenges is land clearance work related to 5 sections that are under construction and 3 sections that have not yet been started.

The 2.5 Ring Road plays a vital role in Hanoi's transportation system, connecting inner-city districts from Phu Thuong to Linh Nam, forming a closed loop to distribute traffic volume and reduce pressure on major routes such as Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3. This road not only promotes socio-economic development but is also a key solution to address the city's traffic congestion problem.

Completing the remaining sections will synchronize with other infrastructure projects, helping to reduce travel time, alleviate congestion during peak hours, and improve urban air quality. In the context of Hanoi's rapid urbanization, the 2.5 Ring Road is a key factor in achieving infrastructure breakthroughs and reducing traffic congestion, one of the five bottlenecks the city is focusing on addressing.

At the conference, Hanoi Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc chaired discussions among relevant agencies, units, and localities to identify and clarify each difficulty and obstacle affecting the project's progress, especially those related to land clearance and investment preparation for new sections…

In his concluding remarks, City Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested that relevant agencies, units, and localities clearly define their political responsibilities to focus wholeheartedly on resolving difficulties and obstacles and implementing the project according to plan.

The comrade particularly emphasized that agencies, units, and localities must be very thorough in every task, especially in land clearance; focusing on basic investigation, understanding the situation, and mobilizing people from now on. In addition, city agencies and units should make maximum use of mechanisms and policies to resolve obstacles and ensure the legitimate rights of the people; and be determined to accelerate the project's progress to achieve the set goals.

The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee emphasized that this is a key project of the city, significant not only for the future development of Hanoi but also for meeting the practical needs of the people, avoiding waste. He requested that the entire political system be mobilized, and that propaganda and persuasion efforts be intensified to encourage people to share, support, and cooperate with the city to bring the project to completion as soon as possible.
