(GLO) - These days, Hanoi, the capital city, is adorned with a vibrant and enthusiastic appearance, looking forward to the 14th National Congress of the Party - a particularly important political event for the country.

From the central streets to the areas around the headquarters of agencies and units, banners, billboards, and slogans welcoming the 14th National Congress of the Party were displayed simultaneously, creating an atmosphere of excitement and joy that spread throughout the urban space of Hanoi.

Along central thoroughfares such as Trang Tien - Hang Bai, Dien Bien Phu, Kim Ma, etc., residents and tourists can easily spot large billboards and model displays welcoming the 14th National Congress with harmonious colors and solemn content, contributing to impressive highlights and expressing the people's faith, pride, and expectations for the Congress.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bac (Tu Liem Ward, Hanoi) said: “In the atmosphere of excitement nationwide leading up to the Congress, people in the area have proactively and voluntarily decorated streets and alleys with flags and flowers. Each flag not only contributes to beautifying the residential area but also expresses the unwavering affection and faith of the people in the Party and the State.”

Along Thang Long Boulevard - Pham Hung Street, at the main entrance to the National Convention Center - the venue for the 14th National Congress of the Party - flags and flowers are brightly decorated. In addition to urban beautification efforts, the National Convention Center has completed preparations in terms of infrastructure, landscaping, and other services, ready for this important political event to be held solemnly, meticulously, and successfully.

Present at the National Convention Center on the afternoon of January 18th, we observed that the preparations for the ceremonial event had been completed. The national flag, the Party flag, banners, posters, and slogans were arranged in a coordinated and harmonious manner, creating a solemn atmosphere and reflecting the joyful and enthusiastic spirit before this particularly important event for the entire Party, army, and people of Vietnam.

The 14th National Congress of the Party is a momentous political event of special significance for the future development of the country. Throughout the country, from cities to rural areas, including remote regions, flags and flowers are displayed magnificently, creating a new atmosphere and renewed confidence among cadres, Party members, and all segments of the population on the eve of the Congress.

With the motto "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development," the 14th National Congress of the Party demonstrates a consistent spirit in leading, directing, and organizing the implementation of important political tasks in the coming term.

The Congress's theme is: "Under the glorious banner of the Party, we unite our efforts and determination to successfully achieve the national development goals by 2030; to be self-reliant, confident, and to advance strongly in the era of national progress, for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, civilization, happiness, and to steadily advance towards socialism."

At the Congress, delegates will discuss, comment on, and approve particularly important documents that have long-term guiding significance for the country's development, including: the Political Report of the 13th Central Committee; the Report summarizing some theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented reform process over the past 40 years; the Report summarizing 15 years of implementing the Party Charter (2011-2025) and proposing directions for supplementing and amending the Party Charter; and the Report reviewing the leadership and direction of the 13th Central Committee.

The draft documents not only summarize the development progress over the past five years but also clearly define the goals and tasks for the next term, reflecting strategic thinking, a long-term vision, and the direction of national development until the middle of the 21st century, aiming towards two milestones: the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2030) and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2045).

Placing their full trust in the Party, and with renewed enthusiasm on the eve of the Congress, cadres, Party members, and people from all walks of life across the country believe that the 14th National Congress of the Party will make correct and strategic decisions, creating strong momentum to lead Vietnam to rapid, sustainable, prosperous, and powerful development in the new era.

On January 19th, delegates will pay their respects to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and to the martyrs at the Martyrs' Memorial. Following this, the 14th National Congress of the Party will hold its preparatory session.
