Hanoi honors exemplary teachers, affirms education is the top national policy

The Capital's Education and Training Sector affirms its pioneering position, aiming for the goal of "enough schools, enough classes, enough teachers".

On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025), on November 11, Hanoi City held a ceremony to honor advanced models and outstanding teachers in 2025. The event honored the silent contributions of the capital's teachers, while affirming the determination to comprehensively innovate and digitally transform Hanoi's education .

A shining example of love for the profession, dedication and creativity

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc expressed his deep gratitude to the teaching staff, affirming that the city always considers education and training as the top national policy, devoting attention and appropriate investment in mechanisms, resources and human resources. He assessed that the capital's teachers are shining examples of love for the profession, dedication, creativity, and attachment to the cause of educating people.
The Secretary of the City Party Committee said that, besides positive results, the Hanoi Education and Training sector still faces many challenges such as uneven access to education among regions, lack of schools and teachers in some places, or an inadequately developed vocational education system.

He suggested that the sector clearly define responsibilities in consulting work, review the goals according to Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW and implement them in the spirit of "leading by example". The sector needs to complete the school network planning until 2030, with a vision to 2045, ensuring "enough schools, enough classes, enough teachers"; improve management capacity, rectify negative practices, and the disease of achievement; and implement the motto "teachers are teachers, students are students".

The City Party Secretary emphasized the need to promote digital transformation, apply artificial intelligence in education; improve digital capacity for teachers and students; gradually implement the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation exam on computers. At the same time, continue to innovate the curriculum and teaching methods, focus on teaching foreign languages, and aim to make English the second language in schools.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc hopes that each teacher will continue to learn, innovate, spread positive energy, and arouse the desire to excel in students. He affirmed that investing in education is investing in the future of Hanoi; the City Party Committee will soon issue an Action Program to implement Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, creating conditions for the capital's education to develop rapidly and perfect the preferential treatment policy for teachers.

Maintain a pioneering position

Also at the ceremony to commend and congratulate 32 collectives and 75 individuals honored and awarded at the State level on this occasion, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son affirmed that, with its position as the political, cultural and educational center of the whole country, the capital's education always plays a pioneering and leading role in educational activities.
The Minister suggested that Hanoi should take the lead in implementing Resolutions No. 71-NQ/TW and 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, becoming a model of elegant and modern education, and at the same time a center for national innovation and digital transformation.

According to Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong, the entire sector currently has 2,954 kindergartens and general schools; 352 vocational training facilities; more than 2.3 million students and 140,000 staff and teachers. The rate of public schools meeting national standards is 80.6%.

In 2025, Hanoi's high school graduation rate will be the highest among 34 provinces and cities, achieving the highest results in the past 20 years. Hanoi's students will lead the country in the national excellent student exam with 200 students winning prizes, 18 students winning international prizes, including 3 medals at the International Chemistry and Biology Olympiads and 5 medals at the World Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiads.

The entire sector has applied 100% of information technology in management and teaching; 97.6% of schools have implemented electronic transcripts; leading in dual degree, bilingual and international cooperation programs. In 2025, Hanoi will have 379 students admitted to the Party, clearly demonstrating the pioneering role of the capital's education in nurturing the young generation.
