(Dan Tri) - Hanoi City requires high-quality public schools and autonomous public schools to commit to ensuring quality commensurate with the new tuition fees approved by the People's Council.
Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha has just signed an official dispatch on implementing Resolution No. 18 of the City People's Council approving new tuition fees for high-quality public schools and autonomous public schools in the capital.
Accordingly, the city requested the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to direct its public educational institutions to strictly implement the approved tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year.
Schools must commit to ensuring the quality of education commensurate with this new tuition fee level. At the same time, it is necessary to publicize tuition fees, strengthen direction in improving the quality of teaching and learning; financial collection and expenditure must be public, transparent and used for the right purposes.
For policy students, schools must fully and seriously implement regulations on tuition exemption and reduction, support for learning costs and other policies.
Regarding tax obligations of high-quality public schools and autonomous public schools, the city directed the Tax Department to propagate, disseminate, and guide schools to register for tax, declare, and pay taxes on revenue from regular tuition fees and other revenues according to tax laws.
The document also stated another important task for the Department of Education and Training, which is to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to develop tuition fees for the 2025-2026 school year and the following school years.
Previously, Resolution 18 of the City People's Council approved new tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year for 17 high-quality public and autonomous public schools in Hanoi.
