Ha Tinh province has a lot of potential in terms of nature, culture, history... that can promote tourism development, especially agricultural tourism.
This is the general opinion given at the Talkshow "Agricultural tourism - new driving force for tourism industry in Ha Tinh province" May 21 with the aim of sharing the value of the agricultural tourism model for the economic development of the province and creating an environment for cooperation with investors.
Mr. Pham Thanh Tung - Deputy Director of the Institute of Agricultural Tourism Economics shared that promoting agricultural and rural tourism will help turn agricultural products, spaces and rural cultural identities into tourism resources.
“The biggest difference is that agricultural tourism is closely linked to local culture, while other types of tourism, such as beach resorts, are becoming modularized and lacking uniqueness and distinction. A 5-star hotel in Vietnam, or in the US, Singapore, or South Korea, if under the same brand, is basically the same.

Therefore, tourism development requires cultural identity, and agriculture is an economic sector with identity. Rural areas are places that fully preserve the spiritual life, national culture, as well as core spiritual values," Mr. Tung commented.
According to Mr. Ho Thai Son - Vice Chairman of Huong Son District People's Committee, Ha Tinh currently holds many potentials in terms of eco-tourism spots, infrastructure transportation systems, agricultural and rural development policies...
In the near future, the province will orient the development of OCOP products and unique experiences for tourists, create conditions for people to study tourism, introduce support policies, plan tours - routes - tourist destinations in the district... to promote the development of provincial tourism.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Le Tran Sang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Head of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee, also said that Ha Tinh province has a lot of potential in terms of nature, culture, history... that can promote tourism development, but there are still many difficulties in exploitation, investment and policy.
Sharing at the Talkshow, Mr. Tran Dinh Tu - Chairman of Vietnam Eco-Village Company proposed two feasible models for households to invest in rural areas: homestay and farmstay. At the same time, according to Mr. Tu, although having great tourism potential and available sources of visitors, Ha Tinh tourism has not yet created unique experiences to gain more profits from tourists.

Representatives of businesses operating farmstay in Ha Tinh also shared difficulties in legality, weather, investment, and attracting tourists in the province with the hope that the delegation and government will solve the problem of selling tourism products in Ha Tinh province.
Mr. Pham Thanh Tung - Deputy Director of the Institute of Agricultural Tourism Economics, suggested that all departments and agencies need to have a tourism mindset by visiting successful localities to learn. Next, it is necessary to clearly define what Ha Tinh tourism is, then create unique products for the province. Finally, implementation needs to be unified at one agency for smooth and quick implementation.
The talk show ended with many shares from businesses and local leaders also received and will propose solutions to promote tourism in Ha Tinh province in general and agricultural and rural tourism in particular.
