Currently, relevant authorities are coordinating to inspect, measure boundary markers, and design the project in order to begin construction in 2026, ensuring the safety of the structure and protecting the lives and property of residents before the upcoming rainy and stormy season.
Previously, on December 5, 2025, the SGGP newspaper published an article titled "Coastal breakwater severely eroded," reflecting on the breakwater along the Ta Nghen dike, constructed around 2022-2023. This is a critical structure directly protecting the lives and property of approximately 500-600 households in the villages of Mai Lam, Dong Thang, Dong Vinh, and Hop Tien. However, due to the successive impacts of typhoons No. 5 and No. 10, over 150 meters of the breakwater have been severely eroded and damaged, and the damage is continuing to spread dangerously.
