Born into a family where their mother is a primary school teacher and their father works in the Coast Guard, twin brothers Le Vinh Ky and Le Phuc Khanh developed a strong sense of self-discipline and dedication to their studies from an early age. Sharing her joy upon hearing the news of her sons' high achievements in the National Excellent Student Selection Exam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai (44 years old), from Hac Thanh ward, Ky and Khanh's mother, said that from kindergarten to high school, Ky and Khanh always studied together, nurtured a passion for mathematics, and consistently achieved many outstanding results. Although their father often had to work far away and had little opportunity to supervise their studies daily, from a young age, the two brothers formed the habit of self-study, independently researching knowledge, organizing their study time scientifically, and supporting and exchanging ideas with each other during their training. Currently, Vinh Ky and Phuc Khanh are preparing to travel to Hanoi to participate in the 2026 Olympic Team Selection Exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training at the end of March 2026.
Sharing his study methods, Vinh Ky said that in addition to completing all his assignments in class, he proactively seeks out additional materials on the Internet. For each problem, Ky always tries to approach it from multiple angles, persistently thinking to find the optimal solution. "When I encounter a difficult problem, I don't give up but spend time pondering it, discussing it with teachers and friends to understand the essence of the problem," Ky shared.

Meanwhile, Phuc Khanh quickly made his mark with many impressive achievements: In 10th grade, he won second prize in the regional excellent student competition in the Northern Coastal and Delta region; in 11th grade, he continued to win second prize in the national student-university-level Olympic competition. According to Khanh, the secret to studying Math is to firmly grasp the foundational knowledge, understand the essence of theorems and formulas instead of rote memorization. For each type of problem, he often creates many different solutions to train flexible thinking, and at the same time, systematize the knowledge after each topic.

Becoming students specializing in Mathematics at Lam Son High School for the Gifted, under the dedicated guidance of teacher Bui Van Binh, the two brothers' academic abilities have been increasingly honed and clearly demonstrated through their participation in gifted student competitions. Commenting on his students, Mr. Binh said that Ky and Khanh both have a genuine passion for mathematics, study seriously, diligently, and are very persistent. Although their results in 11th grade were not entirely perfect, they did not give up but were determined to excel in 12th grade, achieving remarkable success. In particular, both possess excellent skills in presenting their work scientifically , carefully, and confidently.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Principal of Lam Son Specialized High School, in his many years of managing and nurturing gifted students, he has rarely encountered a case as exceptional as that of two twin brothers winning first prize in Mathematics at the National Excellent Student Selection Exam. This achievement demonstrates the equal abilities, thinking skills, and exam-taking prowess of the two students, and reflects their serious and persistent training in a specialized educational environment. With this outstanding result, Le Vinh Ky and Le Phuc Khanh are two of the 11 students from Lam Son Specialized High School selected to participate in the 2026 Olympic Team Selection Exam, scheduled to be held at the end of March 2026.

In the 2025-2026 National High School Excellent Student Selection Exam, Thanh Hoa province proudly achieved a success rate of 86 out of 90 students winning awards (96.63%). All award-winning students are from Lam Son Specialized High School. The awards include: 8 first prizes, 26 second prizes, 32 third prizes, and 20 consolation prizes. Specifically, there were 3 first prizes in Mathematics, 2 first prizes in Physics, and 1 first prize each in Biology, Literature, and English. With this impressive achievement, Lam Son Specialized High School has 11 students selected to participate in the 2026 Olympic Team Selection Exam for Mathematics, Physics, and Biology…
