Many social media users in China have expressed their emotions over a video recording a 5-year-old boy and his 13-year-old sister helping their mother with polio sell ice cream.

During the recent May Day holiday in China, two sisters in Henan Province cycled to a tourist spot about 3 kilometers from their home to sell ice cream. SCMP reported that they sold more than 1,000 ice creams in 3 days. The sisters made less than 1 yuan per ice cream (about 4,000 VND).

The sisters' mother, surnamed Cui, said she had polio as a child and sold snacks, including ice cream, on the street. She herself was unable to do other work due to her weak legs.

"My two children have been helping me sell on the street since they were little. They sold more than 300 ice creams on the first day of the May Day holiday, 200 on the second day and more than 400 on the third day. I think they have earned enough to cover their school fees this year," said Ms. Cui.

The praise for the sisters' talents also continued to increase day by day. On the Douyin platform alone, the number of views on the sisters' videos reached 8 million.

"Poor children should take care of themselves early. Support these two diligent and understanding children," one person commented.

In addition, many people also expressed their admiration for the two sisters. "I don't envy those who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Instead, I admire those who have been self-made through their own efforts since they were young," one account wrote.
