"See you pho industry brothers in Ho Chi Minh City"
That was the sharing of Mr. Nguyen Tuan Trung, representative of Pho Phu Gia - on the Michelin Selected list - on the occasion of Pho Day which has just officially started.
He confided that Phu Gia is one of the units that has accompanied Pho Day since the early days. "Every year, Pho Day has become a big and regular festival of the pho industry. We consider Pho Day 12-12 as the birthday of the profession without realizing it, the closer it gets to that day, the more we look forward to it," Mr. Trung confided.
"On that journey of nearly 10 years, many events and activities were organized and each time was different. Each trip brought new excitement and happiness. We not only promoted pho domestically but also abroad, the most recent time was in Singapore, with many beautiful and memorable memories," he said.
According to Mr. Trung, the scale of Pho Day is increasingly expanding. The event attracts more and more pho restaurants and big brands to honor and promote pho in particular and Vietnamese culinary art in general.
"This year the program is held in Ho Chi Minh City. As one of the pho restaurants here, Phu Gia is also considered the host. I would like to send a warm welcome to the pho industry all over the country to come here and cook delicious bowls of pho for the city's residents and tourists so that people know that pho is very diverse, not fixed in one style but can be varied, creative and has a very good regional identity", through Tuoi Tre, a representative of Pho Phu Gia said.
Pho Day 2025: “Raising the level of Vietnamese rice - Spreading it to five continents”
Speaking at a press conference on December 4, journalist Tran Xuan Toan - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper - recalled the journey of nearly a decade since Pho Day.
"The past 9 years have also been 9 years of sublimation of Vietnamese cuisine, including pho. The series of activities to spread Pho Day are not only organized domestically but also organized in other countries through the Vietnam Pho Festival event.
In 2023, the Vietnam Pho Festival will be held in Japan, attracting about 85,000 visitors, in Korea in 2024 with 28,000 visitors, and in October recently in Singapore, attracting more than 35,000 attendees," said Mr. Xuan Toan.
According to Mr. Tran Xuan Toan, these are telling numbers, showing that Vietnamese pho has spread far and wide. Pho is well received, leading to the pho ecosystem, in which spices and foods develop together. Through pho, we can promote tourism, investment, and trade; it is an opportunity to evoke love and connection between the domestic community and our compatriots abroad.

Two days of delicious and "fun" pho
Taking place on December 13 and 14 at the old Tax Trade Center, 135 Nguyen Hue, Saigon Ward, with many sideline activities, people and tourists will have two days of "rich" pho when it comes to Pho Day.
The festival is large-scale and diverse with 5 main areas, including: trade, pho stalls, culinary experience area, exhibition, stage.
Gathering more than 30 pho stalls with many famous brands from many provinces and cities such as Pho Thin Bo Ho, Pho Vuong, Pho H'Mong Ha Giang, Pho Ta, Pho Nho Pho Nui, Pho Huong Binh, Pho Minh Pasteur, Pho Phat Tai, Pho Tau Bay, Lac Hong Pho..., pho fans will have the opportunity to enjoy "all in one go" Vietnamese pho from North to South.
There are even Vietnamese pho brands in Korea like Pho Khoe, and even Pho Ong Tay - cooked by an Italian and sold in Ho Chi Minh City, has also "joined the game".
Not only can you enjoy hot bowls of pho right away, many stalls also organize pho cooking demonstrations such as making pho noodles, roasting herbs, cooking broth... right at the counter, promising "lots of fun".
Mr. Vuong Duc Bang (Pho H'Mong Ha Giang) said that this is the first time corn pho - a specialty of his hometown - has "moved to the South", so he is very nervous, both happy and worried "not knowing if the taste of the people there will suit". However, the group will bring a quintal of corn to Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the pho dish. "At the Pho H'Mong Ha Giang counter, we will demonstrate making corn pho noodles, then slicing them right at the counter for diners to see", he revealed.
From Gia Lai, for the first time Pho Nho Pho Nui (also known as Pho Hai To) "came down" to Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Luong Vu Thao Nguyen said that "participating in Pho Day is a golden opportunity to promote Gia Lai's specialty dry pho - a dish recognized by the Asian Record Organization as 'Asian culinary value' in 2012 - to a wider market".
To ensure the original flavor, the group will bring special ingredients not available in Saigon such as fresh pho noodles and black bean sauce directly from Gia Lai. "Although it is quite time-consuming and difficult, we want to bring authentic pho from our locality to introduce to diners," Ms. Nguyen added. In addition to serving hot "two-bowl dry pho", Pho Nho Pho Nui will have a small booth to sell packaged dry pho products for customers to buy and prepare dry pho at home.
Pho Day is expected to serve about 20,000 bowls of pho over two days and attract about 100,000 visitors to the event. Each bowl of pho at the event is sold for 40,000 VND.
The organizers will deduct at least 10% from the revenue from pho sales in the two days, along with the cooperation of readers and the units that organize Pho Yeu Thuong for the people who suffered a lot of damage due to storms and floods in Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen) during the recent storm.
Many other activities
Within the framework of Pho Day, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on December 13 and 14, diners can participate in the mini game "On the shoulders of giants" to learn about pho.
On the two nights of December 13 and 14, diners will enjoy art performances by Anh trai say hi, Em xinh say hi such as: Danmy, Hoang Duyen, rapper Nhat Hoang, rapper Manbo...

Vietnamese Pho is facing a favorable opportunity to spread to the international market, becoming a cultural symbol of Vietnam on the world culinary map.
With close coordination between management agencies, communities and businesses, in the coming years, Vietnamese pho will have the opportunity to reach further, spread globally and quickly be recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
