The Asia Innovation Award 2025, organized by the Hitachi Global Foundation, recognizes achievements in scientific and technological research and development with clear social applications and contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The program has been implemented since 2020 and each year invites universities and research institutes in various ASEAN countries to participate with research proposals that align with the SDGs, including a practical implementation plan for the research.
In 2025, the program continues to attract participation from approximately 26 schools across 6 ASEAN countries, which are invited to submit applications, with each institution having a limited number of applicants.
Nominations were evaluated based on creativity, practical applicability, and alignment with the SDGs, before the expert panel selected the winners in categories such as the Outstanding Innovation Award and the Encouragement Award, each accompanied by a cash prize as stipulated by the fund.
