This is one of the key solutions that will help Hai Phong strive to achieve its goal of welcoming 16.1 million tourists.
The industry continues to strengthen communication and promotion of Hai Phong tourism , the Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage site, and the Con Son - Kiet Bac National Special Monument on digital platforms, as well as implementing promotional activities for Hai Phong tourism in key international markets in Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and India.
The sector organizes famtrip delegations from provinces and cities to survey and exchange experiences on tourism development; organizes survey and research programs to connect, exploit, and develop rural tourism products in some localities; promotes the exploitation and improvement of the quality of waterway tourism, railway tourism, ecotourism, food tours, and other tasks.
Do Son is one of the key tourist destinations in Hai Phong city. At the end of January 2026, the Dragon Hill International Tourist Area (Do Son ward) and the KOSTA Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding for strategic cooperation. The highlight of this memorandum is the goal of making Do Son a leading resort destination for Koreans in Vietnam. At the signing ceremony, the Korean partners were briefed on the upcoming construction of the South Do Son Economic Zone. This economic zone will have outstanding preferential policies and developed port and industrial infrastructure, creating a new dynamism for the entire region. The Dragon Hill International Tourist Area is expected to become a high-class residential and entertainment area for international experts and businesspeople coming to Hai Phong to live and work.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Dien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Son Ward, said that along with the Dragon Hill International Tourist Area, other tourist areas in Do Son continue to invest in and improve the quality of services and experiences. The locality prioritizes investing resources in the development of tourism infrastructure. With synchronized and systematic development, Do Son expects to continue to be an attractive tourist destination for domestic and international visitors.
According to the People's Committee of Do Son Ward, in 2026, the locality will focus on promoting tourism through various rich, attractive, and innovative forms, and continue to closely link with tourism in neighboring areas such as Cat Ba and Ha Long. The image and tourism potential of Do Son will continue to be introduced on media channels, social networks, tourism websites, and newsletters. The locality will exploit and promote the value of historical and cultural relics and traditional festivals, creating unique tourism products that attract visitors.
In mid-January 2026, the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to implement its tasks for 2026. At this conference, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung proposed that the tourism sector should develop into a key economic sector with significant ripple effects for Hai Phong city. Accordingly, the sector needs to improve the quality of tourism products and services, build distinctive products associated with Hai Phong's heritage, culture, islands, and urban areas, and strengthen promotion, marketing, and regional linkages. The sector should focus on developing tourism in a green and sustainable direction, gradually building Hai Phong into an attractive, safe, and friendly destination, contributing increasingly to the city's economic growth and structural transformation.
By 2025, the city aims to welcome 14.45 million visitors, including 1.1 million international tourists. This is the result of proactively innovating tourism types and services, launching interconnected tourism products such as the "Hoa Phuong Train" model, experiential tours linked to historical sites, and developing a set of green tourism criteria. Promoting the city's image through tourism promotion and networking conferences is one of the key factors in Hai Phong achieving this goal.
Along with its rich and attractive tourism products, accommodation facilities in the city are increasingly developing. The city currently has 900 accommodation establishments with 23,421 rooms, including 10 five-star hotels, 9 four-star hotels, 7 three-star hotels, 5 tourist villas, 72 tourist cruise ships, and other hotels and accommodation facilities.
