Navy proactively responds to storm Wipha in the waters of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh

On July 20, the Navy informed that to proactively prevent and combat storm No. 3, Navy Region 1 has directed and deployed many measures, especially for the sea areas of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh.

Accordingly, agencies and units in the entire region maintain 100% of their troops on combat readiness; organize officers and soldiers to quickly tie down houses and warehouses, trim trees, clear drainage ditches, etc.; proactively coordinate with local authorities to be ready to respond and rescue when necessary.

At sea, the Regional Command directed Brigade 169 and Brigade 170 to mobilize over 30 boats; thoroughly grasp the storm's developments, review, adjust, and supplement storm prevention and control plans, search and rescue plans, and specific plans for each force when situations arise.

On this occasion, the Head of the Regional Command presented certificates of merit from the Navy Political Commissar to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in performing the search and rescue mission of the QN-7105 tourist ship on July 19 and early morning of July 20.
