Ha Long Bay is located on an important maritime traffic route in Asia, suitable for connecting cruise ship routes in the region and the world, especially close to China, where many international shipping lines bring cruise ships to exploit. Ha Long is also the closest point to other North Asian markets such as Taiwan, Korea, Japan, etc., so it has more conditions to attract visitors.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Quang Ninh welcomed about 100 luxury cruise ships each year, with about 150,000 - 180,000 international tourists. The return of luxury cruise ship tourist groups shows the recovery of the international tourist market as well as the attractiveness of Ha Long heritage bay.
