On November 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) received and worked with the delegation of the Urban – Cultural – Convergence Forum (CICON) from Korea, led by Mr. Park Bong Kyu – Chairman of the Korean CEO Summit, founder of CICON.

According to Mr. Park Bong Kyu, CICON 2025, which was successfully held at Landmark Ho Chi Minh City, is an opportunity for exchange, connection and cooperation between the fields of information technology, economics , agriculture, culture and creativity in the film industry, towards building a future city in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). CICON 2026 is expected to continue to be held in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of many Korean officials, parliamentarians and businesses, policy makers, economic experts, entrepreneurs and innovators. From there, pioneering ideas on smart urban development, environment, cinema, cuisine, fashion and many activities to strengthen the friendly relationship between the two countries will be spread.
At the meeting, the CICON forum expressed its desire to cooperate with the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Small and Medium Enterprises to organize CICON 2026, and at the same time wished to strengthen cooperation with the association's members in many different fields.
Mr. Pham Van Triem, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, introduced the association and the contributions of the small and medium enterprise community to the economic development of Ho Chi Minh City. He said that the association wishes to cooperate closely with CICON and is committed to accompanying in activities to promote economic development, cultural exchange and strengthen friendship between Vietnam and Korea.

On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Small and Medium Enterprises admitted 38 new members, bringing the total number of members to 460. At the same time, the association announced the establishment of the Binh Duong Association of Small and Medium Enterprises under the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.
It is known that Ho Chi Minh City currently has nearly 600,000 registered enterprises, of which about 400,000 are operating, contributing about 480 trillion VND to the budget and creating jobs for nearly 4 million workers. Small and medium enterprises account for 98%, playing the role of the backbone of the regional economy, holding a key position in the fields of production, trade, services, supporting industry and logistics.
