Due to the impact of storm No. 3, in Viet Tri city, there was heavy rain and the upstream hydroelectric reservoirs were operating to discharge flood water, causing the Lo River water level to be at an alarming level and continuing to rise, the large flood amplitude caused flooding, threatening dozens of households living along the river in Zone 1, Song Lo commune.
The Lo River water rose high and fast.
At 7:30 a.m. on September 10, the Lo River rose rapidly, flooding into the gardens of households. Some farms and crops raised and cultivated by people were also flooded. Local authorities promptly inspected and grasped the situation, directing the militia and self-defense forces to urgently support families living along the river to raise their assets to higher ground, move valuable assets and transport livestock from people's farms out of the flooded area. People were advised not to harvest vegetables because the river rose rapidly and flowed strongly.
People urgently moved their property and raised it up high.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bay's family fence collapsed due to river water flooding into the garden.
Initial estimates show that about 30 hectares of corn, 5 hectares of mulberry and many other crops were damaged. Currently, Mr. Nguyen Van Bay's family has had to deal with rising river water flooding their garden, causing a 40-meter fence to collapse.
Chairman of Song Lo Commune People's Committee Bui Manh Quang said: Currently, floods are still complicated, accordingly, the commune government and functional forces will regularly monitor weather developments, be ready to respond to natural disasters, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
