A series of cultural activities took place at the Vietnam Happiness Day 2025 from December 5 to 7. From December 5 to 7, 2025, in the poetic space of Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street, "Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 - Happy Vietnam Festival".

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information, said that the Vietnam Happiness Day originated from the contest “Happy Vietnam” - a media award on human rights - where the country’s daily moments were recorded with the loving eyes of tens of thousands of authors at home and abroad. Each photo is a unique perspective, a unique moment, an interesting story.

Since the first event in 2023, nearly 40,000 works have been submitted, each photo and each video is a breath of Vietnamese life: the smiles of workers, family meals, festive colors, and the warmth of handshakes.

In 2025, Vietnam made a strong impression when it jumped 8 places, ranking 46th in the world in the happiness rankings. This is not just a number – but a testament to the positive energy spreading from people’s lives, from humane policies and from the aspiration to build a fair, prosperous and loving country.

The space of this year's event is organized along the streets of Le Thai To - Hang Khay - Dinh Tien Hoang - Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, where each step will take participants through 13 experience points - such as 13 emotional rhythms: Vietnam Happiness Exhibition; Digital interactive space; Photobooth and art exhibition areas; Happy Tree - where wishes are sent; Happiness Prism, Happiness Map; Sending happiness to tomorrow; Outdoor activities "Health is happiness"; HAPPINESS announcer; All combine into a large flow, telling the story: Happiness is present in every small moment of Vietnamese life.

At the Ly Thai To Monument area, the “Happiness Tree” will receive wishes, gratitude, and sharing from everyone. Each piece of paper hung up is like a seed of kindness, from which happiness is multiplied, spread, and touches the hearts of strangers. At the happiness tree, the organizers give away 80,000 souvenirs to the people and tourists.

Experiential activities at the event

Parade of Vietnamese costumes "Hundred flowers walking" (December 7)

About 800 people in traditional costumes will march through Hanoi's Old Quarter, as if carrying a thousand years of history shining through the modern world – setting a record for the number of people wearing Vietnamese costumes in a parade.

Workshop "Lens of Happiness" (December 6–7)

Art lovers have the opportunity to listen to experts, practice photography, and find the beauty of ordinary life in each frame. All will create together, spread the beauty of visual arts and send the message of “Happy Vietnam” to the community, towards the 2026 Happy Vietnam human rights photo and video contest.

Opening ceremony (December 6)

The event was solemnly held at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square with the presence of leaders of ministries and branches - opening a meaningful 3-day journey.

Mass wedding ceremony of 80 couples – “LOVE IS HAPPINESS” (December 6)

Eighty love stories, eighty happy journeys, holding hands and entering a common wedding where their hearts are united with the hearts of the nation.

This is not just a wedding ceremony – but a symbol of faith, peace and aspiration for love in an independent – free – happy Vietnam.

Music Night "Happy Vietnam" (December 7)

The emotional ending with the participation of many young artists (singer Bui Cong Nam, singer Lam Bao Ngoc,...), open free of charge to locals and tourists.

“Vietnam Happy Fest 2025” is not only a cultural and artistic festival, it is an affirmation that: Vietnam’s happiness is built from peace, love, solidarity, and the simplest things. In each activity, the program also sends its thoughts to the Central region - where people across the country are sharing and supporting each other to overcome difficulties.

With the success of Happy Fest, Vietnam hopes to move towards organizing the annual “Vietnam Happy Day” – a new cultural mark, making Vietnam a destination of peace and humanity in the eyes of international friends.
