On the morning of March 11, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held an information conference on the 10th Hanoi Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 and activities to celebrate major holidays in 2024; the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024); the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Education and Training sector (1954-2024).
The 10th Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 is chaired by the Hanoi People's Committee, with the coordination of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Culture and Sports , the Hanoi Basketball Federation, and sports centers of districts, towns and cities.
The opening ceremony of the 10th Sports Festival will take place on March 15 at the City Athletics Palace with 16 events, including: Athletics, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, chess, shuttlecock, gymnastics, karate, taekwondo, vovinam, tug of war, traditional martial arts, badminton, stick pushing, and soccer.
The opening ceremony of the Sports Festival will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television. The program is expected to have about 5,000 participants, including a parade demonstrating the strength of student representatives from 30 districts, towns, and cities, referees, and a mass gymnastics and art performance by students in the capital city.
The organizers affirmed that the 10th Hanoi Sports Festival has many more special features than the previous Sports Festival, attracting a large number of students to participate.
As of 11:00 a.m. on March 11, nearly 8,000 athletes from units and schools in the city had registered to compete in 16 sports.
The number of sports competing is 4 more than the previous Sports Festival. As of March 11, Hanoi has organized competitions and awarded prizes for 9 sports in the city's Phu Dong Sports Festival program.
According to the Organizing Committee, from November 2023 to present, units, schools, districts, towns have successfully organized the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the grassroots level...
According to the plan, the city's Phu Dong Sports Festival will last until April 6. Based on the competition results, the Organizing Committee will select the athletes with the best achievements to continue training and participate in the national Phu Dong Sports Festival organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that in 2024, the whole sector will have many activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the sector's establishment such as: Information Technology and STEM Festival; songwriting contest for children; marching festival for students in the capital; launching the award "Dedicated and creative Hanoi teachers"; contest "Teachers in my eyes"...
