On December 5, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province issued a document requesting the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committees of Phu Hoa and Dak Lua communes to urgently support people affected by natural disasters.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, from November 7 to 19, the water level on La Nga river rose, causing flooding and affecting about 600 hectares of rice and crops in Phu Hoa commune.

And from November 20 to 22, the rising water level on the Dong Nai River flooded about 366 houses, 397 hectares of fruit trees and crops, and 2.5 hectares of fish ponds in Dak Lua commune.

To promptly support people affected by floods, stabilize their lives and resume production, the Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committees of Phu Hoa and Dak Lua to urgently review, count and verify the damage.

At the same time, prepare procedures and documents to propose support for people affected by natural disasters according to regulations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to inspect, appraise and advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider allocating funds according to regulations to promptly support people affected by natural disasters.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Dak Lua commune, on the evening of November 20 and early morning of November 21, Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Company ( Lam Dong ) released spillway water to regulate the reservoir while the water level on the river was high due to heavy rain upstream, causing local flooding in Dak Lua commune.

Preliminary statistics show that 366 houses were flooded, of which 89 were flooded from 0.2 to 2.7 meters deep; 317 hectares of fruit trees, 80 hectares of crops were flooded; 81 barns, 2 hectares of fish ponds were affected... estimated damage of about 40 billion VND.

According to a report by the People's Committee of Phu Hoa commune, from November 7, the water level on La Nga river was high and remained until November 18, causing the embankment (built by the people) along the river to break and overflow, flooding about 600 hectares of rice and crops of the people of Phu Hoa commune.

According to initial information, the water level rose due to heavy rain in the upstream area and overflow regulation of the Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi hydroelectric reservoir.
