Hundreds of women in the capital perform in Ao Dai: Ao Dai heritage shines

In the jubilant atmosphere of the 2025 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival, on the morning of November 9, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Women's Union, under the direction of the City People's Committee, solemnly organized the Ao Dai Mass Performance with the theme "Women of the Capital - Integration and Development" at the Hanoi Museum.

The event was held to celebrate the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi and the 17th Congress of Hanoi Women's Congress, term 2025 - 2030, demonstrating the role, position and important contributions of women in the capital city in the overall development of the city.

Ms. Le Kim Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, President of the Hanoi Women's Union delivered the opening speech of the program.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Le Kim Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, President of the Hanoi Women's Union (VWU), emphasized: "In the context of increasingly strong international integration and cultural exchange, Ao Dai is still the costume closely associated with the lives of every woman and Vietnamese people, from students, civil servants, public employees, singers, actors, models to ordinary workers, men and women can all wear Ao Dai in important ceremonies of the family, clan, community, when working or walking on the street, at the same time Ao Dai is also a favorite costume in international events, contributing to promoting Vietnam to the world ."

Ms. Le Kim Anh affirmed that wearing Ao Dai is not simply a choice of clothing but also shows love and respect for traditional culture. On October 1, "Hanoi Ao Dai Month" was also launched by the Hanoi Women's Union and received positive response from officials, members and women in the capital.

The Hanoi Museum space has become a large, colorful stage, where the traditional Ao Dai is vividly honored.

With the main theme of “Ao Dai Dance – Colors of Capital Women”, the 2025 Ao Dai Mass Performance attracted nearly 600 delegates. The event was a diverse gathering place for women from all walks of life in the capital, including: female civil servants, public employees, workers, female students, migrant women workers, and cadres and women's union members from all districts.

The program also had the participation of representatives from ministries, departments, central agencies, city leaders, along with many ao dai designers, professional models and people of the capital. With this large participation, the space of Hanoi Museum became a large, colorful stage, where the traditional ao dai was honored in a lively way, affirming the cultural beauty and spirit of community solidarity.

The highlight of the program was the presentation of unique Ao Dai collections. These collections not only deeply honored traditional cultural values ​​but also demonstrated the constant creativity in promoting those values ​​into contemporary Ao Dai designs.

The program introduced works from famous brands and designers such as: Do Trinh Hoai Nam Ao Dai brand, famous for its sophisticated and classy designs; Y Van Hien ancient costume brand with its research and restoration of traditional values; Loi Tam Ao Dai brand; along with unique creations from Designer David Le and Designer Huong Beful.

The Women's Union of Vinh Thanh commune brought a vibrant atmosphere with an energetic Zumba performance called "Proudly stepping into the future - I am Vietnamese".

The program has spread the beauty of the Ao Dai heritage to the public.

The program strongly conveyed the messages: "Hanoi - City for Peace", "Pride of Vietnamese Women's Ao Dai", "Shining Vietnamese Ao Dai", "Charming Hanoi Ao Dai", and "Colors of the Capital's Women".

Through these activities, the Ao Dai Mass Performance Program "Capital Women Integration and Development" in 2025 has brought a new color, contributing to honoring the value of Ao Dai in social life, honoring the elegant and civilized beauty of Capital Women, promoting the capital as a cultured, civilized, modern city, and affirming Hanoi's position as an attractive and friendly destination for domestic and international friends.
