According to BGR , a recent report from anti-virus software provider Dr.Web has warned about a new type of malware called Android.Vo1d that is spreading rapidly on Android TV Box devices. According to statistics, about 1.3 million devices in 197 countries have been infected with this malware, including Vietnam.

Android.Vo1d acts as a backdoor, allowing cybercriminals to remotely control the device, download and execute malicious files, and even install apps without the user's consent. Although the source of the infection is unknown, experts say Android TV devices often use old versions of Android that are not updated with the latest security patches, making them easy targets for attacks.
While Android TV boxes may not contain as much sensitive data as phones or computers, malware infection can still have serious consequences, such as stealing personal information, tracking user activity, or even turning the device into another cyberattack tool.
Experts also recommend that users change passwords for important accounts and closely monitor unusual activities on their devices.
