These students exemplify the spirit of overcoming difficulties; achieving outstanding results in their studies and training; actively participating in Youth Union and student association activities, and volunteering for the community… contributing to spreading a beautiful lifestyle among students.
Student Luong Thi Huong: Overcoming difficulties to reach the lecture hall
More than two years ago, Luong Thi Huong (a third-year student in the Faculty of Resources and Environment, Forestry University branch in Dong Nai ) received her university acceptance letter. However, thinking about her elderly parents who still had to support her education, she planned not to enroll but to work as a laborer to support herself and help her parents.
Sharing about her decision at that time, Ms. Huong said: She was born and raised in Bu Gia Map commune. She is the youngest of five siblings, three of whom have their own families, while she is the fourth child and a university student. Her parents are elderly and have worked hard in the fields for many years, so their health is declining. The harvest from the fields depends on the weather and prices, so it is quite unstable. If she enrolled in university, it would add to her parents' burden.

However, encouraged by her relatives, Huong realized that only education could change her circumstances and enable her to support her parents in their old age. Therefore, she decided to pack her bags and go to Dong Nai to study. During her first year, she was still unfamiliar with the environment, so her parents supported her with tuition and living expenses. From her second year onwards, Huong proactively sought part-time jobs.
Ms. Huong said: On weekday evenings, she works as a waitress at a restaurant near her school, earning an average of 4 million VND per month. To supplement her income, Ms. Huong also participates in packaging cordyceps mushrooms for wedding parties on weekends. With this income, Ms. Huong not only covers her own tuition and living expenses but sometimes even helps her parents.
Despite dedicating significant time to her part-time job, Huong ensured she maintained high academic performance. For two consecutive years, she was an outstanding student in both academics and personal development. Huong shared: To achieve these results, she always set clear goals for herself with a well-defined plan. During her studies, in addition to attentively listening to lectures and taking careful notes, she also learned from her friends and senior students. After each part-time job, she dedicated her remaining time to studying and researching to further enhance her knowledge.
As the Vice President of the Student Union of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, Ms. Huong has always been exemplary and at the forefront of youth union and association activities. "Through youth union and association activities, I have had the opportunity to meet, interact with, and expand my network; I have gained experience and acquired many soft skills that have helped me become more confident on my journey to adulthood," Ms. Huong shared.
Student Le Hoang Khoi Nguyen: Spreading a beautiful lifestyle among students.
Since his high school days, Le Hoang Khoi Nguyen has often heard stories about exemplary students who promote a positive lifestyle among students at universities and colleges. He always considered them role models to strive for when he became a student. Therefore, after being admitted and enrolling in the Pharmacy program (Faculty of Health Sciences , Eastern University of Technology), Nguyen always focused on his studies, participated in extracurricular activities, and strived to achieve titles such as "Excellent Student" and "January Star Award"...
Nguyen said: "The field of Pharmacy is quite unique, closely related to human health and life, so it requires students to be highly skilled in their field. To meet this requirement, the knowledge taught in class or in textbooks is not enough; each student needs to have a spirit of self-study and research. After class and laboratory sessions, Nguyen dedicates all his time to reading, researching, and improving his knowledge. With the different subjects, Nguyen finds a suitable learning and memorization method for himself. Thanks to this, from his first year to the present, Nguyen has consistently achieved excellent academic results."
Beyond his academic achievements, Nguyen also spreads a positive lifestyle among students by actively participating in community volunteer activities. Currently, Nguyen is a member of the school's Volunteer Club. Every week, the club organizes fundraising sales. The funds raised, combined with support from benefactors, are used to provide gifts to the people, including homeless and disadvantaged children, on a monthly basis. "Through this activity, I realize that there are still many places and people in need who require support, and that young people themselves need to contribute more," Nguyen shared.
Perhaps that's why Mr. Nguyen registers to participate in the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign every year. Mr. Nguyen said: He has participated in the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign twice. Each year, the campaign goes to different areas. In the 2025 Green Summer Campaign, he had the opportunity to go to Xuan Hoa commune. The most memorable experience he had in this campaign was participating in supporting the construction of charitable houses for people in difficult circumstances, installing streetlights, etc. These experiences helped him gain more life experience, skills, and especially see his own limitations.
With tireless effort and dedication, Nguyen has achieved the title of "Outstanding Student" at the school, provincial, and national levels, and this year he is one of three students from Dong Nai province to win the January Star Award.
Student Pham Nguyen Ha Vy: Striving to write a beautiful story during her student years.
Student life is the most beautiful and memorable period of youth – where each person begins their journey of self-affirmation and nurtures big dreams. Those years are not only marked by a foundation of knowledge but also by continuous effort and striving to write their own beautiful story. With that in mind, for over three years at university, Pham Nguyen Ha Vy, a fourth-year student (Faculty of Economics and Management, Dong Nai University of Technology), has continuously strived to write her own beautiful student life story.

Evidence of her efforts includes three consecutive years of achieving excellent student status; three consecutive years of receiving the "5 Good Students" award at the school and provincial levels; three consecutive years of outstanding achievements in student union activities and student movements; and two years as an exemplary student union officer at the school and provincial levels. In the 2023-2024 academic year, Ms. Ha Vy received the "5 Good Students" award at the national level, and in 2025, she will be honored as an Advanced Youth following Uncle Ho's teachings in Dong Nai province, and selected by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Union to receive the January Star Award… Also in 2025, Ms. Ha Vy will have the honor of being one of six delegates from Dong Nai province to participate in the Red Journey program for research and study in China, jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union of China…
According to Ha Vy, since entering university, she has been researching the titles and awards for students and the criteria for achieving them. Every title and award has criteria related to academics and participation in student union activities. Therefore, from her first year, she set a serious study plan and dedicated time to participating in student union activities. Starting as a collaborator supporting the activities of the Faculty of Economics and Management's Student Union, she gradually joined the Faculty's Executive Committee, became the Deputy Secretary of the Faculty's Student Union, and is currently the Secretary of the Faculty's Student Union and Vice President of the Student Association at Dong Nai University of Technology.
As the Secretary of the Faculty's Youth Union and Vice President of the Student Association of Dong Nai University of Technology, Ms. Ha Vy has made many contributions to organizing Youth Union and Student Association activities for members and students of the university, creating an environment for students to train, contribute, and grow.
