
At 5 a.m., BSR 's relief convoy with the words "Towards the flood victims in the Central Highlands" departed for the areas heavily affected by natural disasters in Dak Lak.

One after another, the trucks carrying necessities have gone to locations such as Xuan Canh commune, Xuan Loc commune, Dong Hoa ward, Tay Hoa ward, Hoa My commune, Phu Hoa 2 commune, Tuy An Dong commune... to give gifts to support people.

According to statistics, in the past few days, historic floods in Dak Lak have killed 55 people, left 10 missing and thousands of houses flooded 5-7 meters deep. In addition, about 180,000 hectares of agricultural production area were severely damaged, with total estimated damage of more than 5,330 billion VND.

Understanding the losses and difficulties of the people of Dak Lak , BSR quickly launched a program calling on employees to donate and join hands to support people affected by floods. At the same time, organizing a working group to go directly to the localities to give essential gifts.

BSR employees prepare gifts including essential items, cakes, milk, rice, drinking water, mosquito nets, blankets... to support disadvantaged households.

BSR packaged the gifts in plastic boxes to prevent moisture and ensure safety during transportation through flooded areas. These boxes not only help preserve necessities, but can also be reused for a long time, becoming practical items for people when stabilizing their lives after natural disasters.

Mr. Khuong Le Thanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors of BSR (right); Mr. Pham Minh Nghia, Deputy General Director of BSR and Ms. Truong Thi Thu Ha - Chairwoman of BSR Trade Union handed over gifts to people affected in Xuan Canh commune, Xuan Loc commune and many schools damaged in the recent floods.

During this support period, BSR presented more than 200 gifts to people in Xuan Canh and Xuan Loc communes; and also presented more than 450 school supplies to students at 7 schools in Xuan Canh, Xuan Loc, Dong Hoa, Tay Hoa, Hoa My, Phu Hoa 2 and Tuy An Dong.

BSR also provided a total of 350 million VND in support to 7 schools along with essential gifts for students.

BSR's relief team went directly to flooded areas in Xuan Loc commune to give gifts to the people.

Mr. Khuong Le Thanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors of BSR visited and encouraged the people, hoping that they would soon stabilize their lives.

In Xuan Loc commune, about 100 households are still living in flooded conditions.

BSR's support team presented 30 million VND and essential items to Vo Thi Sau High School (Tuy An Dong Commune). At the same time, BSR's relief team also visited Le Hong Phong High School (Tay Hoa Ward), Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Hoa My Commune), Tran Suyen High School (Phu Hoa 2 Commune) to directly present support gifts to the schools.

Previously, BSR urgently organized a donation program to support people in the Central Highlands provinces affected by natural disasters. BSR staff enthusiastically responded and quickly prepared necessities to send to people in the affected areas.

Many employees participated in packing gifts to send to people in affected areas.

The gifts were carefully selected, classified and arranged before being sent to Dak Lak. Along with that, many messages full of love and encouragement were also attached by BSR workers, sent to people in the flood-affected areas.
Faced with the serious damage caused by storms and floods, with the sense of responsibility of a member unit of the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group (Petrovietnam), BSR has actively accompanied the Group to join hands to support localities severely affected. Recently, Petrovietnam has spent 14 billion VND to support the damage caused by storm No. 3; 5 billion VND for storm No. 5; 53 billion VND for the damage caused by storms No. 10 and No. 11. During the flood season in the Central region alone, the Group has supported a total of 16 billion VND, of which Quang Tri received 3 billion VND, Hue 5 billion VND, Da Nang 5 billion VND and Quang Ngai 3 billion VND. Currently, the Group is completing the support procedures to help overcome the damage caused by storm No. 13 and floods in some provinces including Gia Lai 10 billion VND, Dak Lak 5 billion VND, Khanh Hoa 5 billion VND, Lam Dong 5 billion VND, Quang Ngai added 2 billion VND, totaling 27 billion VND. The total amount of support to date has reached more than 115 billion VND. At the same time, Petrovietnam's member units such as PVOIL, BSR, PVFCCo... also quickly sent working groups to provide support to people in provinces and cities affected by floods. The Group and its member units are continuing to mobilize donations to join hands to help people quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize their lives. |
