This award is not simply an academic achievement; it's also an answer to the question the male student once hesitated at the gates of Hanoi University of Science and Technology: "Will a student with a strong inclination towards social sciences be overwhelmed when pursuing a degree at a prestigious engineering university?"
At the end of December 2025, Nam Khanh was one of 9 outstanding students honored by Hanoi University of Science and Technology for the 2024-2025 academic year.
“This title is not simply an award; it helps me answer a question I asked myself before: Choosing to attend Hanoi University of Science and Technology was the right decision. The school not only helps me mature but also provides motivation and opportunities for me to become more confident and better,” the male student said.

Nam Khánh is currently a final-year student majoring in Finance and Banking (EM5) at the School of Economics , Hanoi University of Science and Technology, with a GPA of 3.79/4.0 and a conduct score of 96/100.
Speaking to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper, Nam Khanh said that four years ago, standing in front of the gates of the Polytechnic University during a college admissions counseling program, the boy from Chu Van An High School for the Gifted was still very hesitant about taking the university entrance exam.
"Since I was a child, I've dreamed of studying at the Polytechnic University. In my mind, it's a place where many students with excellent academic abilities gather."
"Even so, I've heard that this school is known for its demanding curriculum, with difficult subjects like calculus and algebra. Will a student with a strong inclination towards social sciences like me be able to keep up?" the male student wondered.
The male student excelled in Physics but was not strong in Chemistry or Biology. After researching, he chose the D01 group (Mathematics, Literature, English) to apply to the School of Economics at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
That year, Nam Khánh was admitted to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, majoring in Finance and Banking, with over 26 points.
“On the day the results were announced, my mother and I were driving. We quickly pulled over to the side of the road to check the scores. When I found out I had been accepted into my dream major, I jumped out of the car and shouted, ‘Mom, I got in! I did it!’” Khánh recalled.
When he first started school, he was still overwhelmed for many reasons: worried about not being able to keep up with the curriculum, afraid that he wouldn't have any friends from Chu Van An High School studying there...
The male student's initial goal was to catch up with his classmates, but he was surprised by his GPA of 3.25/4.0, earning a B-level scholarship in his first year. From then on, Nam Khanh realized he was capable of pursuing his studies at this university.
This was further confirmed when, in both semesters of her third year, she received an excellent scholarship with a GPA of 3.79/4.0.

In addition to striving for the best academic results, the male student also participates in student union activities. Unlike his shy and introverted personality during high school, the current engineering student is completely different. Thanks to this, Nam Khanh has achieved the title of "Excellent Student" at the university level for three consecutive years.
Sharing his study secrets, Nam Khánh said that, unlike in high school, in university, especially in a school surrounded by many talented people, he had to find a suitable study method.
Instead of spreading my investment too thinly, I focus on developing my thinking skills and mastering the knowledge as I learn it. I don't cram, I don't wait until the last minute to review for exams; I break down the material into smaller parts and study consistently every day.

Currently, Khanh holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and President of the Student Association of the School of Economics (Photo: Provided by the interviewee).
For subjects involving calculations, Khanh and his friends practice with sample problems, pointing out each other's mistakes. This helps them retain knowledge longer, freeing up time for themselves and other activities.
