In the opening match of SEA Games 33, the Vietnamese women's team had a convincing 7-0 victory over the Malaysian women's team. Thai Thi Thao's hat-trick made coach Mai Duc Chung satisfied with the performance of his players and believed that the team had fully achieved the set goals.
Thai Thi Thao, who scored a hat-trick in the match, said the whole team entered the field with high concentration: “This is the first match at the 33rd SEA Games so the whole team is always reminded to concentrate. I am very happy to have followed the coaching staff's instructions well and the team won.”

Sharing about her first hat-trick in the national team shirt, Thai Thi Thao said: “I was lucky to score 3 goals. That was the result of the good playing style and position that the whole team created. This is the motivation for the whole team to look forward to the next matches.”
She revealed that this hat-trick was dedicated to a teammate who had just welcomed a new family member. “This is the first hat-trick in the team so I am very happy and hope the whole team will have a successful SEA Games 33.”

According to coach Mai Duc Chung, the team has met important requirements in terms of force: "We have no injuries, no yellow cards, thereby ensuring the best force for the next match. That is extremely necessary."
Mr. Mai Duc Chung also shared about the calculation in using personnel: "I arranged the team to alternate between young and experienced players, not using one group entirely. My requirement was to create many goals, and the team performed well."

The next match, the Vietnamese women's team will meet the Philippine women's team at 6:30 p.m. on December 8.
