HATECO - "Six words" philosophy to create corporate identity
With the name HATECO, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan dedicated to the enterprise the meaning of the words behind the letters, which are:
H is for Hybrid - Green - Technology Combination
A is for Aqua Sea - Water - Green Resources
T is for Transformation - Green Transformation
E is for Emission-free
C is Circular - Circular
O is for Optimization - Energy and Operation Optimization

Vice President Le Minh Hoan believes that businesses can absolutely create their own “acronyms”, slogans or operating philosophies. These “letters” are not just to hang on the wall, but must reflect the spirit, identity, creativity and inner pride. When guests or staff come to visit, they can feel the spirit of “self-mastery” from the cultural values that the business creates.
Regarding Hateco, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly assessed that this is a private enterprise participating in the green seaport sector, a sector that requires high technological capacity, operational standards and pioneering spirit, and Hateco is considered a model that inspires policymakers. According to him, the enterprise is contributing to sketching the green industrial future of Vietnam.
"Embracing" the spirit of 4 major resolutions
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan emphasized that Hateco is implementing the spirit of four important resolutions, namely Resolution 57 on scientific and technological breakthroughs, innovation, and digital transformation; Resolution 50 on deep international integration; Resolution 68 on private economic development; and Resolution 30 on building regional centers and regional driving forces.

He suggested that in the next time, businesses should clearly present their approach and implementation of these four resolutions as a testament to the maturity of Vietnamese businesses in the new era.
From his experience visiting major ports such as Tan Cang, Lach Huyen, Lien Chieu, Busan or Rotterdam, he believes that Hateco is on the right track but can completely expand its scale according to the green port ecosystem model.
According to him, a modern green port needs to have: an innovation center; a marine energy laboratory; a logistics training center; a logistics industrial cluster, a green technology startup, and finally a national-level integrated management system.
“A green port is not just a place for ships to enter and exit, but must become an industrial, logistics, and innovation ecosystem,” Vice Chairman Le Minh Hoan emphasized.
Unity, dedication and reaching out to the ocean
According to the company's report, Hateco is currently serving about 1,000 partner businesses in both import and export directions. Each business has hundreds of employees, creating hundreds of thousands of indirect jobs. In the agricultural and aquatic products industry, behind them are farmers, fishermen, and leading businesses. According to him, Hateco's contribution goes far beyond a port area, it is social value, livelihood, and driving force for the economy. He hopes Hateco will boldly develop these values, to clearly see the "coverage" of the green port model's contribution to the country.

Vice President Le Minh Hoan suggested that Hateco should continue to instill the “Hateco philosophy” into every engineer, bachelor, worker… so that everyone can be proud, accompany and contribute to the journey of greening Vietnam’s seaports. Photo: Khuong Trung.
With the opinions of the National Assembly delegates, Vice Chairman Le Minh Hoan pointed out the importance of appropriate tree planning. Oil trees, coconut trees, date palms, etc., which are able to withstand storms and are less likely to fall, need to be researched and applied in coastal industrial zones such as Hai Phong. This is a seemingly small detail but demonstrates a long-term vision for climate adaptation and sustainable development.
Sharing about human resources, a factor that he believes is more important than machinery, the Vice President was impressed with the special attention paid to training, because “not every business is willing to invest in people.”
He offered a philosophy: “If you take away the factory but keep the staff, the business will be able to build a new factory. But if you keep the factory but lose the staff, the factory will soon decline.”
Therefore, Vice President Le Minh Hoan suggested that Hateco should continue to instill the “Hateco philosophy” into every engineer, bachelor, worker… so that everyone can be proud, accompany and contribute to the journey of greening Vietnam’s seaports.
Vice Chairman Le Minh Hoan expressed his hope that Hateco would continue to build a roadmap to implement four major resolutions, raise its ambitions and arouse the spirit of "Reaching out to the ocean" as the General Secretary suggested.
He believes that with the support of Hai Phong leaders and efforts from businesses, the green port model, green industry and innovation can completely become a new driving force for the Hai Phong region in the coming time.

The first smart port in Vietnam
Hateco Hai Phong International Container Port has a total area of 73 hectares, a wharf length of 900 m, and a depth of -16.8 m to -18.4 m. The port is capable of simultaneously receiving two large container ships of up to 200,000 DWT (≥ 18,000 TEU), with a maximum ship length of 400 m. The establishment of the port marks an important turning point in the maritime sector, contributing to promoting international trade and creating a driving force for economic development in the North as well as the whole country.
With berths 5 and 6 invested with the most modern technology today, Hateco Hai Phong International Container Port will be the first smart port in Vietnam with automatic entrance and exit gates, semi-automatic wharfs, able to receive the largest ships in the world and go directly from the farthest places such as the west coast and east coast of the United States.
In terms of technology, the port is equipped with 10 STS shore cranes, 36 electric e-RTG cranes, and 1,350 refrigerated container sockets, ensuring loading and unloading speed and efficiency, while saving energy and being environmentally friendly. The port also applies a smart operating system: TOS software synchronizes all operations; the operation center (OC) monitors real-time; integrates QR recognition technology, OCR and smart security warnings.
In particular, this is the first port in Vietnam to deploy the TAS (Truck Appointment System) container truck appointment booking system, helping drivers be more proactive, save time and improve operational efficiency.
